|M_||Yeah I ran 31's for awhile on my 4" lift and then about a month ago upgraded to the 33's be prepared for a power loss and the necessity to regear your rears to make up for it... It's tolerable but definitely not ideal!|

@ kj92 - i just installed the RC 2.5" lift on my jeep this weekend. 93YJ already had a 2" BL on it and i measured from the bottom of the rocker before i started and it measured at 20". i put on the springs and shocks with 33" tires and now measures at 25.5". jeep rides great however i do have a vibration now when taking off from a light. it seems to start to mellow out a little but still there. i dropped the TC about 1" using grade 8 washers but that did not change anything.
also heads up that RC sent me the kit without the rear u-bolt nuts and you have to use your old shackle bolts or purchase ahead of time. they dont come in the kit. you might need 8 grade 8 1/2" x 4.5" bolts. i used marine grade grease to lube the bushings.
not to drag this out but my drivers side spring seems to be a little crooked and cannot fig out why?

|kj 92yj||thanks for thie input! i think i'm going to go with the RC 2.5". I have read many arguments here regarding why and how OME is better etc...and I can't say I disagree...but the RC is 1/2 the price (557.00 with steering stabilizer and shipped) from rc.com. However, I read on jeepforum.com that if you call a place called casanova 4x4 and say you're a member of that board, you'll be able to get the lift cheaper than if you got it from rc direct. so, that's the plan! if i could land this for about 500 with shipping, that's a sweet deal!|

|Jeepnfever||I am running a 2" body lift and a 4" RC suspention lift with the SYE. The good thing about RC is they have a lifetime warrenty on their products to include the shocks. Now the bad thing is that the springs are a little weak. I have had to replace my passenger side spring twice now but it was covered under warrenty same with my shocks when they went out I just called them and I had new shocks in 3 days.|

|4Jeepn||Yes body bolts can be an issue to remove, I would just make sure your body pucks are in good condition etc for now. I am near the nati as well if ya need help just let me know.|

|kj 92yj||thanks for the response 4jeepn. i have read on threads here that trying to remove a body lift can be absolute hell, so i'll probably just keep it on. i definitely agree with your advice on no more than a 2" srping lift. i'm not looking to change out tires yet, but any more than a 2" lift would really look foolish on 31's. I'm afraid it is going to anyway, but i guess that's left to be seen.|

|4Jeepn||Based on keeping the body lift, I would say no more than an 2" spring lift. However if you go with a shorter body lift of say 1" or so I would go with a 4 lift. I run the RC 4" and for the price it is a good lift. Vibs are different in each jeep. I have a t-case drop and there is very little issues. I plan to upgrade to a SYE kit at some point.|

Afternoon all! looking into a 1.5" or 2.5" lift for my yj. It already has a 3 inch body lift on it so I don't want much more than a 1.5 or 2.5 suspension lift. Would love to have the OME but its pretty dam expensive. Leaning towards the black diamond or 4wd house brand.
My current leaf springs are completely flat and the shocks are god only knows how old so I'm sure whatever I buy will be better than what is on it now.
Here's the question: I've read many threads about lifts and I keep seeing one word over and over and that is rattle. What kind of rattle are we talking about here and how can I avoid it? I think I have some rattle now with just the body lift between the speeds of 45 and 60, but it goes away when I get faster (or slower) than that. I've always just discounted it as "just another jeep thing" , but reading these threads makes me think I've already got the rattle demon others speak of.
Any help here?
