caperry88 Water Pump was the culprit. Went to AutoZone this morning had a guy listen and look at it, and he immediately saw that the shaft had worn out on the water pump. So I replaced the pump and the drive belt, about $45, I forgot the coolant though so I will have to wait until later to go and get that. I am just glad the water pump wasn't that expensive.

Undead-89 Sounds like Fan clutch, water pump or alternator.

You can take the belt off for the alternator. start it and see if the noise goes away. if it does it's the alt.

If it doesn't put it back on and remove the fan, but not the fan pulley. Put the nuts back on to hold the pulley on start it up and see if the noise goes away. If it does, replace the fan assembly.

If it doesn't it is more than likely the water pump.

Fan Noise, Rattle???

Went to PT the other morning and had the heater running. When I got to the track I sat there waiting for the rest of the people I was supposed to meet. I kept hearing a rattle but I thought it was from the cd I was playing. It got worse throughout the day, so that when I got home last night it sounded really bad and loud.

It sounds almost like what I think a bad bearing in the fan would sound like.
I cannot get the fan to turn off.
Maybe the thermostat is stuck?

Any ideas?
