Tarby Guys are just putting back together a 49 CJ3A that we did a complete repaint for a customer at the shop I work at. Raptor is the best stuff we have used so far at the body shop. We just used the tintable on this rig inside the tub to match the body color. Came out awesome...the color is not bleached out from the liner, nor is it darkened at all. We have sprayed Raptor for 2 years on plenty of vehicles...it has been the best material in the liners we have laid down by far...nothing else has lasted as well. This says alot, since our shop gives a paint guarantee on finished products for 1 year. I'll see if I can get some pics of the CJ.

A little dusty from sanding all day on other vehicles, but the tub is done in the Raptor with body color, the roll bars and fuel tank are all done in black.

Thnx.
Sending you $$ when I get home tomorrow for your column cover .
I have changed steering column once already .

VoodooShot I didn't take the doors off because ...
The after market windshield hinges aren't countersunk for the bolts . So the door hinges hit the bolt . I can get the doors off just takes time . Thought was gonna rain .. It dint so I sprayed real fast and went to work .

Most ppl take out there roll cage yet I couldn't . Broke 3 sockets trying so I sprayed it also . Being that all I got to put back in is 3 seats and console 20 min of work .

I also had my wife put a tarp on it Monday night the spray smells that bad don't want my new top to smell like it .
ok thanks for the info. this is what i was most uncertain about with the bedliner stuff. i dont want my jeep out of service for more than a day lol.

im not even going to attempt to take the roll cage out. i have stripped and drill out too many bolts already on my jeep.

just out of curiousity how come you didnt just take the doors off when you were spraying?

I'm a EBay junkie . Some kits don't come with a gun so read . Also some kits are tintable .

Oh ya like another 10$ for tape and gloves .
If you have bad floors may cost you more for prep I cleaned my tub last year so 1/2 my prep was done
03-20-2011 03:29 PM
VoodooShot Thickness hmmm . It's least 10x paint thick . I put xtra in the back cause the front I use Rugged ridge slush catcher. So I'm not worried about wear there . Only one spot I left thin because I have carpet to hide wires .

VoodooShot It's sprayed with air . Kit I got came with the gun amd 4 bottles with hardener . 120$ shipped . You'll need air compressor . I used one from Harbor Frieght 170$ had a 31 gallon tank . The comp kicked on at end of first bottle .
Prep work was just labor drill with wire brush . easy .
Hard part was taping 3 hours alone .
5$ for 30 cheap earplugs to put in holes.
4$ for 3 rolls of saran wrap .
03-20-2011 02:17 PM
kpdiver What was your total cost to do that? Any special prep work? I've never heard of this stuff, so how is it applied? I'm thinking bumpers too.
