jp'rs_peep'rs The top seems to be in great shape. If ain't broke don't fix it!

jrussblues Check out the supertop nx. I believe u can get it as a factory style replacement. A bit pricey with all the brackets but should fix the rail problem. Still much much cheaper than a mopar top and frame which I believe is the only other option for the fix you want.

Geoff@Bestop That is a Supertop. The bolt in header is not as convenient as the factory clamp on type, but does work very well. (we're -finally- able to sell the factory style now!).

I'm not entirely certain I understand your question, but generally speaking, with a classic Supertop and Bikini tops, the windshield header stays with the Jeep, and you attach the fabric each time. With a factory top (and our new Supertop NX), the windshield header stays with the fabric, and you attach it to the Jeep each time.

InfernoGirl Must be a Supertop. Look it up on Bestops site. You'll probably find out everything you need to know about it.

Unless they bought it with the hardtop only. It would be a much cheaper solution to buying a new factory soft top.

Scoob Thats a Best top. Its not a factory option. I know little about them since I have a factory dual tops. Hopefully somebody that knows this type pf top can comment on its removal. I can only tell you the jeep didn't come that way

JDsDream Welcome to the Forum

If it were the stock top it would not say Bestop on it. They were manufactured by Bestop but carried the Mopar name. The stock 06 would have the header with latches to release the top, and the frame would go down with the fabric. As WranglerTX has mentioned, pics would be helpful.

wranglerTX some pics would help to know if is a factory soft top or a bestop supertop.

2006 Jeep soft top

Hello there, I am new to the jeep world. I have an 06 jeep wrangler with a soft top. I had some questions regarding the soft top itself. I am not sure if I am doing it right or not. currently when I take the top off, the entire cloth portion comes off and I have to roll it up. My windshield bracket is a bolt on that does not come out. Is this stock for an 06. The soft top cloth itself says Bestop on it. I just don't know what is stock. I was also wandering if I wanted to go to a quick release windshield bracket, will I have to get a whole new frame to make it work?
