navret offer him 1800 as is and plan on a trans rebuild, 5.9 magnums can last forever. you can go to junk yard and pick up transfer case cheap and rebuild it for when you need to replace it. plenty of old rams out there, might be some in better shape in the same price range. just plan on doing some some work.

Red Wrangler 4wd
v8 magnum
kelly bluebook said in excellent condition its worth 3000
but its got some faded paint, a few scratches, small rip in the seat and the tailgate latch doesnt work.
and i think the mileage is somewhere between 120k and 160k...
the guy said they were gonna send it to the shop, check it out and said somewhere between $2900 and $3900

redsoxfan25401 The transmissions are notourious for being a piece of crap. so make sure you check the transmission over real good. even if it has already been replaced it could still be on its last leg. the transfer cases weren't real great either

Dodge Ram

so this is way off topic but i dont want to create an account on a dodge ram forum. so does anyone know what the value (not bluebook) of a 1997 dodge ram 1500 shortbox with 160000 miles is? i saw one at a car lot and was thinking of adding a car to the family but they didnt have a price for it yet and since i know nothing aout values of dodge rams, i dont want to get ripped off.

some cons about it is some faded paint, a few scratches, the tailgate latch doesnt work at all, theres a rip in the driver side seat and the salesman actually backed into a pole when he was showing me it... put a teeny scratch on it...

its got good exhaust and the motor runs well and is pretty clean. a little lift...maybe 1-2in body. good tires.
