|Anjunafan||Seelye, I was wondering how that SA-8 ended up working for you? I was planning on doing the same thing. A SA-8V2 4ohm wired to a JL 500/1 amp in the stock enclosure with some polyfill in it|

seelye, that sub is a beast! you say it doesn't "thump" do you think it's the plastic enclosure, if so what if you put dynomat or fiberglass to reinforce it....
i was thinking about the jl stealth as well, i imagine that you would have to replace the factory subwoofer/interior panel with the non-subwoofer version to add the jl, assuming all would fit.
another option (as seen somewhere...) is to install the sub in the cargo space in the floor....

im not getting the "thump" that this sub can produce, but its much louder than the factory infinity...
i am actually going to sell a few car audio items i have and get the jl audio wrangler stealthbox..i will then remove the factory sub box and replace it with
Jeep Wrangler Stealthbox by JL Audio

i have a 2011 sahara unlimited and wired in an external amp after the factory one.i use a line level,i still have total control of my sub by using the amp adjust and it doesnt effect the factory sub at all.. its a kicker zx1000.1 and is mounted on the back side of the rear passenger seat.i just ordered a sundown audio sa-8 8" dual voice coil 2 ohm sub,,i am going to run my speaker cables from my kicker amp through the back of the factory enclosure and fabricate a ring for the factory enclosure because i think the sub i ordered is a bit deeper than the factory infinity, this will in turn skip the factory amp all together and i will have total control over the 500watt 8" in the factory enclosure, it might poke out a little bit further than the infinity but only about an inch,,so losing an inch to keep my trunk isnt bad,,im in the middle of moving and not sure how to upload from phone, but as soon as i figure it out i'll post some pics.
edit,,make sure your line level has a remote wire.

|mml||i have a nav unit with u connect, will the output quality be good, i've tried some of the real basic ones in the past (simple resistors) and they sound kind of crappy so i was thinking of trying a more expensive processor in hopes of getting good sound|

|Jma20a||you can get line level converters to splice into a set of speakers that convert it to a set of rca cables|

alpine has a processor the should do the trick.
i see other manufacturers offer similar devices.

generaly no stock radio has rca's. being that it's a newer vehicle probably have to spend some cash on a adapter. alot of newer vehicles can't use a line level converter (old way). you probably have a factory amplified system and speakers maybe crossed over already. and generaly when you do this if keeping stock radio dont be chocked if you have to replace all speakers and even re-wire them as well.
idk if jeeps do it but i know on chevy's they have door chime going through driver speaker and when u amp the speakers makes that real real loud and anoying

after market amp
hey, i take delivery of a 2011 rubicon on tuesday, it has the nav with uconnect, does anyone know if there are rca outputs or some sort of line output that can connect to a better amp, speakers, and sub....
