Been on my own for the past 15 years or so and been busting my ass ever since. No freebies for me...it's all sweat equity my friend. If I want it, I work for it.
No sugar momma in my house, just a sugar daddy - me.!
Who's your daddy?

Nah, I own this place. Just manage my budget. What's bad is, the Jeep is my second pricey hobby. Here's where I play radio. Did the remodel about 2 years ago, to build a room for Ham Radio hobby.

|crafty||Jeeps aren't built instantly. I have been gathering used bits and pieces for my build happening this month for almost a year now. And setting aside every extra penny I had for new stuff needed. The only way I could do this is my Jeep is my one and only mode of transportation for now and it's a 93 YJ that is paid for. I am paying on a house but that is it other than utilities. I have only one credit card with under $500 charged on it. I was stretched to the max 12 years ago and learned from those mistakes. The only luxury thing I have is my Jeep and am happy with that.|

I must be old!
I left home in 1959, uncle sam kept me in clothing (all the same color) fed me, and kept a roof over me (sort of). Got to play with some great toys though but they wern't shiny. We did keep them very clean.
I should thank all of you that are still working as you contribute a little to my retirement every month.
Strange that a wrangler can span so many age groups.

|hardy1531||Hey I know the feeling. I have my own home, two cars and all the bills to go with them. I had more money when we were first married but I wanted a house not an apartment. THen came the kid. I wish I had more money but family comes first. I try and find "cheap" mods I can do.|

|naterg||Trust me, I would love to live on my own. As much as I love my parents and get a long with them great and love living with them, it doesn't beat living alone. I went off to college, so I know what its like, but when my dad lost his job, I had to move back home. Since then, I've been pretty much paycheck to paycheck... It is starting to level off now, and I am getting back in school as well as getting married pretty soon, at which point I will definitely be moving out, haha.|

I moved out of my parents house when I was 19 and lived on my own for years. Now I have my own home (well, I share it with Skeeter) and I'm the parent of 2 kids. Sometimes to all 3 of them.
I definitely had more $ to spend on fun toys, before I was living on my own, and especially before I had kids.

I live at home, unfortunaly it is mine and I have to pay all the bills. I have been trying to get the dog a job so he can help out. We applied at the police department but found out they do not pay the dog's???? What is up with that!
Anyway back to the thread if we (my friends and I) did not do all the work I would have no where near the amount of mods on my YJ. Also keep in mind I have owned it for 14 years and do pretty much one major mod a year.

|1BLKJP||Haven't lived at home full time in 12 years since I started college. I have 2 hobbies and the jeep see's most of my money. Hell I've done and do what I do while I'm still making payments on it.|

|bluvikng||I know that every situation is different, and I did not mean any disrespect to those, still living at home. I left home at 19 yrs of age, and have not looked back since. I still have a 21 yr old son living at home, he just loves his mom, and has it too good, to move out............. Not my way of taking on life on your own, but what the heck, his mom, enables it.|

The question should be, how many of you, have great paying jobs, that afford you to make your dreams, come true?
That is the correct way to look at this. Not, who sponges off of somebody else, so you can afford to play.

Lived on my own for 5 years, bought my town house 2 years ago.
Keep in mind, I have been building my heep for slightly more than 3 years, spent quite a bit of my extra money on it. Not a whole lot of credit card debt...only about 3k. I also still owe about 15 more payments on my heep...I did a 5 year loan on it .
