|ianelodir||I had a similar problem with mine. I noticed a popping sound when I hit bumps. I took the front two panels of the hard top off and there was a crack about 1 1/2" away from the shock mount on the driver's side of the back half of the roof. I took it to the dealership, they took some pictures and replaced it under warranty. The problem is that I just went to pick it up yesterday, and something told me I should check it. I took that half of the top off and sure enough the 'new' replacement was forming a crack and it hadn't left the dealership yet. They took some more pictures and are replacing this one as well under the warranty. In my opinion there is a serious design flaw with the hard tops. I don't understand why there would only be these two 1" shock mounts supporting that part of the roof on the roll bar. I was actually getting on here to post a question about anyone else having this issue. It sucks that it happens, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. (Edit: It's a 2011 JK with < 7k miles on it)|

I had a small crack on the inside of mine, front passenger panel right by one of the locking levers. I took it into the dealer and they didn't even ask me if I had it off. It looked like the injection molding was poor in that area of the top. They ordered a new one and 3 weeks later I was all taken care of. Now my crack wasn't that big and it was on the inside, but I was pretty pleased with the service.

YUP, thats the first thing they'll ask-"has the top been off" !!

Hi Thanks for the replies!
Top has not been off.
Do you think the rear door was closed on the window?
Do you think this is covered by the bumper to Bumper Warranty?

OUCH, there ain't no doubt about that being a structure crack-
Looks like a rear top window "SLAM" or storing top off jeep "improperly" and should be on the left side also-or
Structural fatigue from the MFG--Dealer time !!

YUP --dealer time and it's not fiberglass-
Even though, it may NOT BE a crack--your warranty should cover it !!
If it is a crack, the old high tensil mat'l fixes won't work, because the crack is the start of the top install/flex/attachment strain-
Did you getit new ""if used, then the top has probably been off !!

|SylvanSahara||if its a factory top looking at your yr and model(even aftermarket tops), i would think should be under warranty.|

Hard Top Question
I just noticed a crack located about 4 inches from the right corner at the top of my Hardtop. The crack starts at the top just after the top curves down and extends about 5" on an angle towards the corner of the rear window and ends. It does not extend into the window opening, nor does it go any further then the roof curve. There is no evidence of any impact. This appears to be some sort of "Stress Crack". The top has never been off. This is on a 2010 JK 4 door with 7500 miles.
Has anyone ever experience this sort of crack?
Repair were I to do it would seem to be normal Fiberglass repair.. grind a "V" fill with resin and touch up
Anyone have any thoughts?
Is the black stiple touch-up paint for the Top available?
