sound hound I have an 03 - 6 cyl. - auto. Stock tires I averaged about 16.5.
Now with a 4" and 33's it's 14.5
As so many have said b-4 we don't buy Jeeps for fuel economy, but, try takin the top off and hittin the trails in your'e xx mpg grocery getter.

N8tive I have a 97 5spd 4 cyclinder w/ 186000 miles. I got suckered into that tornado device. I never kept track of my milage before, but I get 20mpg...sometimes 21.5, woo hoo!
BTW- I have had this thing in my jeep since 2001, maybe 2002

import_freak i get about 16mpg with 33's and a 4 inch lift (4cyl 5speed)

mmasuperman12 yeah i have a 95 with 160,000 and got 19 today but that was half highway have offroading so im not really complaining like others before if you love a jeep get it if not get some compact. the 4 banger will do alright if you remeber your not racing nascar

khenderson i average 18 with my 4 banger and 5spd. i've hit 22 when it was all highway with a tailwind driving 60 and i was very excited about that. but about half highway and have city i get about 18.

I would have to agree with SouthTJ.....if you are looking for a gas friendly daily driver....keep looking.....because reading others post's even the 4 bangers are going to be well under 20mpg......I cant help either though with exact numbers as I have a 6 auto, and I would be lucky if I hit 18mpg

SouthTJ If you're thinking of buying one just because you love Jeeps then go for it. If you're thinking of buying one because gas prices are so high and you hope to save some money, forget about it. I'd be willing to wager that a 4 cyl Jeep with a 5 speed gets worse mileage than what you're driving now.

Mine is a 6 with a 5 speed so I can't help you on specific numbers but i think they're less than 20mph.

Anyone out there driving a 4cyl. with a 5 speed? If so, what kind of mileage are you getting? I was thinking of picking one up as a daily driver.
