I have an 03 - 6 cyl. - auto. Stock tires I averaged about 16.5.
Now with a 4" and 33's it's 14.5
As so many have said b-4 we don't buy Jeeps for fuel economy, but, try takin the top off and hittin the trails in your'e xx mpg grocery getter.

I have a 97 5spd 4 cyclinder w/ 186000 miles. I got suckered into that tornado device. I never kept track of my milage before, but I get 20mpg...sometimes 21.5, woo hoo!
BTW- I have had this thing in my jeep since 2001, maybe 2002

If you're thinking of buying one just because you love Jeeps then go for it. If you're thinking of buying one because gas prices are so high and you hope to save some money, forget about it. I'd be willing to wager that a 4 cyl Jeep with a 5 speed gets worse mileage than what you're driving now.
Mine is a 6 with a 5 speed so I can't help you on specific numbers but i think they're less than 20mph.

Anyone out there driving a 4cyl. with a 5 speed? If so, what kind of mileage are you getting? I was thinking of picking one up as a daily driver.
