Yep, I saw that it had been going on and off for several years. I tried the link, but it didn't work and figured that he still had it lying around. Thanks for the new one.

ColoradoSheepDog Hardermods: It looks great, do you happen to have the measurements that you used? I want to build it, but want to make sure it is correct.

Glad it worked out for you, and by the sound of it you got a workout... Those dang things are heavy!

APBAinMaine Wow, that looks a lot simpler and more effective than the pipe contraption I just built. I can't figure out what the pipe models is supposed to look like, but I've clearly done something wrong.

Hardermods There ya go
04-16-2011 07:12 AM
SylvanSahara that looks like what i need at a lot better price than a store bought/manufactured unit.

any chance you have a pic of the cart w/ the top on the cart?

Hardermods The skinny bar in the middle is what the glass rests against so I dont use anything to keep it closed.

But you could use one of these,
Glass Retainer
Liftgate Clamps

Thanks for the pic and the site. Look forward to doing this real soon!

SylvanSahara what do you do to keep the rear hatch glass from flopping opening when you put the top onto the cart?

Me too

I would like to do this but the pictures would really help.

APBAinMaine Gah! Any idea where the pictures for this thread went? I'm about to embark on this, and those would be a life-saver when I screw it up!

larry408 I did not have room in my garage to store my hardtop and full doors. I made a platform between my carport and house to sit the top on. I can store my doors under the top and cover it all with a tarp.

foxinthemudd ya, I got a 30 (I believe) and just had them cut and thread it.
07-27-2009 06:42 PM
crasha9 You can go to Lowes and buy a 60" or something around that size and they will cut it into two 27"s for free for you.
07-21-2009 10:56 AM
BrokenWallet Where did you get your 27" pipes? cause i've looked around for it and I can only find 24" and 30" pipes. :\

I don't mind to go aimlessly wondering around home depot until I get the answer. But hopefully its before they close. :P

foxinthemudd I don't see how it could have dented the hardtop... I don't have any issues with mine
06-09-2009 07:01 PM
crasha9 It slightly dented my hardtop, not the insulation.
06-09-2009 05:10 PM
foxinthemudd ya it slightly dented the insulation but it bounced back an hour after is was moved.
06-08-2009 02:18 PM
crasha9 I built it but when I put my hard top on it, it slightly dented the bottom where it rests on the insulation. You may want to see if it did it to yours
06-05-2009 11:33 AM
foxinthemudd sweet can't wait to see it.
06-05-2009 09:35 AM
crasha9 Sure does! I'll try to post some pics of mine when I get done with it
