I dont think the breather would affect vacuum really as the assy is opened to vacuum for only very short bursts. If you are having problems with your A/C - it's likely you have a vacuum leak in the tiny, brittle, PVC hose going to the HVAC, the vacuum reservoir (below the battery), or the check valve (on the intake manifold) or with any of the vacuum switching controls (behind the dash).

If you had issues because of the breather you'd have a vacuum leak large enough to devoid your intake of enough vacuum to run some small accessories. your engine would probably be idling fairly high, in addition to running like crap, and you'd probably also have a pretty tough brake pedal.

*ding ding*! Just because you don't live in CA doesn't mean you won't have a Jeep that doesn't meet CA emission standards

AzTJ I was gonna say, that has to be an emissions thing as mine doesn't have anything like that.

RIPBiker13 It's so if you crash, the people that find you will know what happened and why you crashed, then cover it all up.

There is a black box on the drivers side fender with vacuum lines running to it on the front top of the black box there is a inlet or outlet with nothing on it, it is open does this nipple about 5/8 in size does it need a plug? does it take a hose? Or is supposed to be open? thanks
