Fort Worth TJ Thanks. I will try that. But first I'll have to make a new shim. The plastic one broke in half Gonna make one out of steel and weld it on

MIZZOU_Fan I have the same one. I took a pair of channel locks on the back stop closest to the tailgate and bend it down to catch better and it works great.
As far as the angle from side to side. Loosen the bolts that atach it to the pivot and make sure it is leveled out and then retighten

SmittyBuilt. Rear bumper tire carrier

I have had this bumper/tire carrier for two yearsI'm pretty sure it's SmittyBuilt. I Turned a corner today and the tire swings out. I looked close and found there was a factory plastic shim that was screwed on the bottom to keep the swing from bouncing up and out of the latch/catch. And now lookin even closer I can see that from the right to left it seems to angle upwards ( not level). Anyone else have this crap and a similar issue.
