|Neil F.||The speedometer pickup is mechanical (except for the Rubicon) You need to change the speedometer gear in the tailshaft. There are charts around for the gear teeth for each tire size and gear ratio|

|raggedydag||Thanks TnDz! Exactly the kind of advise I was looking for. After I re-gear would you still recommend adding the Truspeed or do you think it would it be a waste of money? The description of it says it is suppose to improve overall engine performance and improve fuel economy.|

|TnDz TJ||All that will do is correct your readings... you will still have the lack of power and lost performance... the re-gear will give you back the loss of power and some efficiency overall.|

Superlift Truspeed Question
I just bought a 2001 Wrangler Sport 4.0 6 cyl. with a 4" lift and 33" tires and noticed that the speedometer, odometer, and tachometer are all way off (I used a GPS speedo app on my phone to confirm, and my odometer loses 7 miles for every 65 miles traveled) and I lose a lot of power going up small hills in 5th gear, so the previous owner obviously never got it re-geared after lifting it and putting bigger tires on.
My question is: Can I use the Superlift Truspeed calibration device in lieu of spending $1200 to get the whole thing re-geared, or should I just get it re-geared and forget about this device, or should I get it re-geared and use this device as well?
