|Rubicon Lineman||Took the advice and installed the unit in that shelf vicinity. Came out great. Wasn't easy though and required some customization. Took lots of pictures. Will upload tomorrow. Seven hour installation time and its midnight. I have to be at work in five hours, merp. One teaser photo. OK fine two...|

|TjMtl||That ABS shelf is great. These compressor's get hot when in use so I wouldn't want one near a passengers leg or arm in the cab.|

First onboard air DIY
Purchased ARB's CKMTA12, their performance dual compressor model. Once home and opened I quickly noticed all the parts I was going to need to make this work. This kit literally gives you an air compressor to put into your vehicle, a switch to operate it (some harnesses), and nothing more. But I like projects so I'm far from scared off. With 6 years in electrical (state certified journeyman) and 10 years in construction I'm not getting beat by an air compressor, haha. I've already searched the Forum and seen a few JK builds but not for the TJ. Obviously a compressor install is completely translatable from almost any vehicle to the next, but in the spirit of specificity this is going to be all about the TJ and its particular needs. My short term goals are simple: mount the compressor in the cab, get the factory supplied switch to work, and have the capacity to put air in tires. I'm going to the dunes in four weeks and want to be able to de/inflate my tires.
Any suggestions or input in appreciated!
