Adjustable Linkage Question

Got a problem with my 97 Wrangler Sport 120,00 miles, w/ Automatic Transmission. I installed a 4" Skyjacker lift about 35,000 miles ago. Over the past couple thousand miles the jeep is starting to make a thumping sound when I accelerate. I checked all of the u-joints and they are fine. When I put it in four wheel drive it goes away. So I disconnected the four wheel drive linkage and it went away. Its almost like the four wheel drive is tying to engage. I remember reading something in the Skyjacker instructions that an adjustable linkage may need to be installed at the time the lift is installed. Has anyone had this problem? If an adjustable linkage is the solution where do you get them or is there another adjustment I can make? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Roc
