ORNGCR8 I've got a Mango Tango Sahara and I've been thinking about spraying the silver covers with the factory paint to match. I think the burnt orange color would go nicely with the black and it'll stand out from other Jeeps that are just solid black or still silver. Thoughts? Too "ricey"? I'm trying to visualize it. Only problem is that if I don't like it, they'll be a pita to sell, and I wasted time and $ on paint! Anyone have photoshop to render it?!

real4x4 I just removed the silver cover from my rear bumper yesterday. Easy mod and looks better black off the tan sahara. Anyone want to buy it?

Im sure you did it long ago, but I used one of those little hobby type socket sets with the bit holder and it fit in front of the grill. I just took the front off and am contemplating the rear. Think I can get good money on ebay for them. Im trimming my cherry red Jeep in black, so it looks much better without those silver trims.

GiantSchnauzer By the way, here is a pict of my first mod :

GiantSchnauzer also the sahara came with p245/75/r17 owl Goodyear wrangler tires on 17x8 alu rims and not the 255's.....

GiantSchnauzer I had to buy what packages they had in stock over here in Dubai, was surprised that they had any at all(only 4 in stock), perhaps these 2 packages include stuff Jeep dont need to put on so they save money:
ABDA Middle east equipment group
ABES Export equipment group

I am just bummed that it didnt have the remote start cause that is a MUST in the summer here, going to have to retrofit it soon in the next few months.

(havent found out yet if the Jeep starts "beeping" if you go over 120 kph, still running it in, only have 130 km on it)

Yes, but they are easy to remove and you could have sold them for a couple hundred bucks and used the money to pay for more mods .

Yeah, I was pretty surprised they sold in less than a week.

TroutSafari I like the silver accents on a silver jeep. Has anyone painted the pieces to match the color of there jeep instead of just taking them off?

xocoley93xo Finished product...... Anyone want them?
11-18-2011 08:26 PM
ngiovas I'm really glad I found this thread. I have a growing list of mods I want to do to my Jeep when it arrives, but replacing the bumpers is lower on the list right now. I had no idea this was so easy. This will definitely be something I tackle sooner than later (zero cost and little time ).

Park_Wrangler I have a silver Jeep so the silver accent covers don't bother me. But if I had another color I would probably take them off too. Has anyone painted the silver covers to match their body color? Pics.?

xocoley93xo this is totally awesome!!!!! I have the exact same jeep (sahara tan) and I have been wanting to slowly change everything to black accents and this is just what I wanted to start with but I had no idea how.. thanks for all the help!!!! gonna get started right this second =)

Thanks for the tip FB! The closer bolts hold the hitch on the frame on mine. Took me 15 minutes start to finish. A 5/8ths spark plug socket worked wonders on those 2 top middle bolts. The bumper literally weighs 10 lbs!

cu in oz Was the fron easier to remove with your Jeep on its side?

Is it neccesary to tip it on its side to remove the silver cover?

Much better without the silver - fenderbender's comment was helpful as well.

seelye i just didnt care for it because it was silver, they should have made them matching the jeep color,,besides i'll eventually throw on an aftermarket bumper.

jk wrangler fan I actually like them on the sahara, I'm a fan of the saharas 18 inch wheels and the silver inserts set it apart a bit more from the X and rubi.

SylvanSahara i like the silver but my wrangler is silver so it all matches up well
05-07-2011 10:58 PM
