debruins i have had great service form both JCwhitney and quadratec, but i wouldnt buy stuff from quadratec if i didnt buy that gift certificate, but its worth saving the $125 and get some slow shipping!

here before too long ill have 2 jeeps to be working on which is why i was wondering..
When I make mention of a smaller local shop, I don't necessarily mean one that is in your area. I'm talking about the smaller independent guys like Joe, DPG, Northridge, KORE etc.... You will get better service, more knowledge of the product, and better pricing than you will from the retail chains.

hutchman When I posted the link it worked fine. Now, the link goes to the website, but they must be working on the site or something because it is slow as 90 weight at -40 degress.

I'll check later.

richp I deal with quadratec for some things, local parts stores for others, depends, my club blue mountain jeep alliance, gets nice discount and several members work there so when I want something I order it a day or two before the monthly meeting and one of the guys brings it to the meeting, saves on shipping
Other stuff like warn bumpers I get locally, the parts warehouses that supply the parts stores usually have big brands like that in stock and it saves on shipping too,
If you noticed a trend here it's shipping, I will not deal with a place that has their shipping dept as part of their profit center.
For stock parts I use jeepsareus, they get stuff to me in 2 days.
I have also worked out relationship with my dodge dealer who will order jeep parts just from the vin numbers on my 3 jeeps.

Shopping is my expertise.

Just put it on a transport truck and ship it. That's what I do.

Actually there are some very good online vendors out there. I strongly recommend you find one that carries the parts and equipment you need then pick up the phone and talk with them. I've done that several times and sometimes you'd be surprised what you get on the other end of the line. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. The good thing is you'll get an idea of who you're dealing with and what kind of business they run.

On a side note too: The lowest price shouldn't always be your deciding factor. Go with the one who gives you the best service. It will pay off in the long run.

MoA thats weird.. every time i order something from quadratec or jcwhitney.. i seem to get my items 2-3 days or even a little more before it says i am suppose to get them..

but dpg is the best as far as getting me the items =p
08-19-2007 10:42 PM
1BLKJP You will find if you shop the smaller local jeep shops like Scout and the others have mentioned you can get a better deal on them by actually calling and speaking with them. They are only allowed to advertise a certain level of pricing per each different manufacturer. But that doesn't mean that they have to sell it for that price. Take the time to build a relationship with a person and you will be able to find all of the parts you'll ever need way cheaper than you can get them from the huge parts houses.

Scout Most recently Absolute Off Road in Phoenix

Also:

DPG Offroad
RedRock 4x4
Northridge 4x4
Off Road Recovery

I've ordered some things from Quadratec and 4wd Hardware. Due to slow shipping and the worst customer service I'll never order from Quadratec again. I'm just glad I realized that early enough in my spending frenzy. Also after my whole Smittybilt tube fender fiasco I have since put 4wd Hardware on my shit list. Never again.

1BLKJP Unless I buy something used I get all my parts from Joe at Absolute.

Like Andy said I do also haunt the Pirate vendor section for things as well.

debruins JCwhitney has some REALLY good prices on somethings, and sometime Q-tec has better prices, its weird somet things they make abigger profit off of and somethings not i guess!

im getting all my stuff from JCwhitney and q-tec mostly b/c i have a $500 gift certificate to Qtec (i bought it 4 myself when they had a sale on them it cost me $375!!!!) and JCwhitney for the free shipping and lower prices than other places jc whitney is the place to get tires from though, same price as tire rack, but no shipping!

where do you shop for jeep parts?

over the past couple of months ive been spending a ton of money on my jeep..

ive bought things from ebay, jcwhitney, 4wd, quadratec, and dpg offroad..

what other sites do you guys use to shop around for jeep parts? and what site do you guys think offers the best prices

i think 4wd and quadratec offer the best prices, except jcwhitney offers free shipping on 75$ or more purchases, which really balances them out..

and dpg offroad has some nice items too =p
