all the best info, but-don't forget to put the drain plugs back in !!

Don't forget to check the storage compartment in the back along with the spare jack compartment. There are also plugs in EACH of them. I removed the one in the big compartment but didn't realize there was another one in the jack space.
I caught some heavy rain with the back panels removed (but top still up) and never checked. A few days later I opened it up and there was 4 inches of water completely filling the jack compartment. Hellooooo rust

|meanmna||Is there a good source for those plastic carpet retaining nuts? Some stripped fairly easily when removing the carpet and are now useless. Actually a more sturdy (metal?) option may be a better choice. Any thoughts?|

Thanks all for the help. Finally pulled the carpet and let it sit in the sun. Even after extensive wet/dry vacuuming there still was about a pint of water soaked up in each front foot well carpet and almost twice that in the rear carpet. After letting site a few hours in the sun they are mostly dry (the fronts are slightly damp to the touch on the edges) and reinstalled.
Had some issues with a bad antennae message on the satellite radio and the steering wheel buttons not working for a while today but all came back and as far as I can tell everything is working fine now.
Neighbor is also a Jeep owner and gave me some dryer sheets to put under the floor mats and said it will help if not fully dry with any odor issues. Thought that was a tip I would share.
This forum is great!

|ChaseRedJK||There are no natural fibers in the interior of the JKs so mildew wont be an issue but you should still pull it let some sun and wind hit it.|

If I could best describe them, one is about 3-4in in front of the seat mount and about 4-5in from the doorsill trim, the other one is about 4inches further into the footwell and 4 inches closer to the transmission tunnel hump.

|homebrwd||Under the dash there are a couple nuts that help hold it down, remove those and it should peel back and be easily put back when you are done|

|daggo66||The carpet should just pull out. It's not fastened down, but some might run under the trim so be careful. It would be a good idea to pull it when the sun comes back out and let the sun hit it for a few hours to prevent mildew.|

How bad is it? And where do you find those drain plugs anyway?
OK. Major Noob mistake. Had my JKU for not even a week now. Yesterday ran the son to the store real quick afterschool with the front two panels of the freedom top off. Get home and run inside to get the phone and forget to put the top back on.
Well late last night we had a MAJOR downpour and the JK got soaked. So far I have vacuumed out about a gallon and a half in my wet dry vac. I have dried everything off surface wise on the dash, seats, etc. with towels and used the wet vac for any other crevices, etc.
My MP3 player sitting on in the net holder under the dash is toast.
The radio worked for FM when I turned it on but the Sat. gave me an antenna error originally but is now receiving OK.
I have been able to find three drain plugs each side by sliding my hands under the carpet. 1 under the driver/passenger front seat, one in the foot well in the back seat and 1 under the bench seat in the back (all on each side). Are there more? I assume there is one in each front foot well but I canít seem to find a way to it or how to remove the front carpet.
Right now I have not removed the carpet. I took the wet vac to everything and sucked out a ton of water and now I am going over all the carpets with a hair dryer to try and get them all dry.
The top is back on but I have all the windows down and doors open to help air it out. May rain more this morning so I did not want to leave it bare. Supposed to be sunny this afternoon so I may take it off again. We will see.
Any thoughts, concerns, etc.?
