My YJ question is in the TJ thread because I just finished a post about my TJ charging system and forgot to change threads. Sorry about that. If I convert the YJ and I'm happy with it, I'll do the same to my TJ so in retrospect, it's also a TJ question.

I've messed with the kits from TSM and SSBC with the parking brake caliper. I've yet to work on one that I didn't have to remove the rear calipers and block them open to bleed them correctly, plus turning the caliper piston to adjust them in or out is not much fun.
Crown has also entered the fray with their version and it's the same as Teraflex with the exception of it using the Jeep brake pad and I believe the TF kit uses 8.8 pads. That's important to know when it's time for replacements because the pads are specific to the caliper.
For your needs, I'd simply junkyard a set of ZJ rear discs and bolt them right up with converted e-brake cables and call it good. You have to option of not hooking them up, but why not? They work, very low maintenance, and as far as a parking brake goes, are about as simple as it gets.
I much prefer the simplicity of separate parking brake over combining it with either the caliper or drum brakes like you have now.

First off, you're on the wrong thread! It shouldn't matter much because you are probably running a D35.
Since you are in a YJ, why not just put in a Ford 8.8 rear axle that has disc breaks? For the price of the kits, you could build yourself a nice 8.8! That's killing two birds with one stone. You might not need the girth of an 8.8, but why not if it costs the same?
I say since you are in a YJ because it's easier to build an 8.8 for a YJ. The leaf springs are easier to deal with, and you don't have to worry about track bars.

|99wranglertj||Sorry I don't have any helpful information for you, but I was looking into doing the same thing to my TJ. If you find a good system that works for you would you let me know? I was thinking of just taking the rear end out of a Grand Cherokee with discs but a conversion kit would be much simpler and less expensive. I like the line-lock idea also btw.|

Experience with Rear Disc Brake Conversions?
I think it's time to get my YJ back on the road. It's got 182K miles and the rear brakes are factory original. Since I'll need shoes, drums and possibly slave-cylinders I'm considering a rear disc-brake conversion kit instead. I've looked at a few; Tera-flex, Rough Trail and a few others that use a parking brake system that looks like mini drum brake shoes tucked in behind the disc. I don't think I like this idea. I'm getting rid of drum brakes.
The SSBC A128 is advertised as having the parking brake within the caliper. I think this is probably a simpler system with less moving parts to foul up than the mini-drum/shoes system but I'm just going on past experience with other complex mechanical things.
I'd just as-soon skip the parking brake altogether and install line-locks. I rarely use the thing.
I'd like to hear some pros and cons from some of you who've already done a conversion.
