Texas TC I run 285/70/17 tires on 9" rims with 4.5" backspace on my 2011. Works great and you do not need a lift for them to fit. I agree that you should stay with a 17" rim. I think you will find a larger variety of tires at a lower cost within the 17" category.

Good luck!

prophotodude Thanks for the info. Here is where my problem lies, my wife is short and I don't want to make the tires too big to where she can't get in the car. I already put on side steps and even with that it's kind of hard for her to get in. With that in mind what size tire do you think I should go with?

InfernoGirl Duratracs are a great choice Join Tread Lightly - Home and you can get the $100 rebate on them. I'd suggest going to a 16 or 17 inch wheel instead of the 18 so you have a bit more sidewall to soften the ride and beef up the appearance. Look at all 4x4 sites and you'll find tons of options for wheels. You need a max backspace of 6" for that width tire, iirc, and 5x5 bolt pattern. An 8" wheel will be a good size for that size tire, and later if you decide to upsize you can still use that wheel if the backspace is small enough. Here's a pic of my husbands '07 on 315/70/17's.

rims and tires for 2010 wrangler unlimited

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and need some help. I have a base model 2010 wrangler unlimited sport and the stock rims and tires are too small and kinda ugly(in my humble opinion). I am interested in black rims with tires. I found tires that I like, they are 275/65/18 and they are called goodyear duratrac tires. First of all, would I be able to fit these tires on my jeep? Second, what size black rims would i need to fit these tires, if i can use those tires? I would like some meat on my tires, but I do not go off-roading. I just like the aggressive look of the tires I chose. My jeep is red, hardtop, and sitting on the standard base model rims and tires right now. It is 4WD, if that helps any. Anyone have suggestions and pictures? Thanks in advance everyone!
