|toshpate||I ran bikini top no doors and was fine. U definitely want shade and if it rained I put my doors on and took out the back seat. Just get two ponchos and tilt the seats forward and the bikini top will keep the seats dry. Been doing this since 96 and never had a jeep with ac|

|jp2611||would DEFINETLY do something other than hard top windows down----Probably remove hard top at a minimum--could easily sell hard top for enough to purchase soft top-or wait till fall and make a little more. -----than cost of soft-top.|

|Roadhawg||I live in OKC and yes it does get hot here but I have a soft top and it's usually down so I don't use the a/c anyway. I do plan on getting a Spiderweb shortly though.|

|InfernoGirl||Get a soft top.... Sell the hard top to pay for it if need be. You don't need a hard top in OK for winter, especially if you'll have a garage to park in. It gets hot in OK, and humid, but you'll manage if you can acclimate yourself to the change. IMO hard top up with windows down in OK in July would be torture... Even safari tops hold a lot of hot air right at head level and make it about 20* hotter than need be. A SpiderWeb sunshade will help on the really awful days for making shade and still allowing air flow...|

I would say a lot would depend on what you personally can handle. I know I can handle 105 degrees with no AC. I also have some friends that cannot.
If you are going to run without AC I would agree with the above posters and suggest you grab a soft top. Hell, even a bikini for those really hot non rainy days. that way you will get maximum air flow but still have that bit of a buffer between you and the sun.

|jkaufman_95||Im not an okie but I would say get the soft top or don't just if you wanna. I ran in the 90 degree humid days last summer in m old tj with no ac with a hardtop just the windows rolled down.|

I've been through quite a few summers down here with no a/c. however, these were not spent in a jeep. but it is possible to tough it out, just don't ever carry any lady friends with you, they for some reason don't like old school a/c.
As for the solft top thing, if you don't have a/c the least you can do is purchase a soft top, there are plenty down here on craigslist for around $300. If you would be more interested in keeping your hardtop for winter i would suggest possibly a rampage bowless soft top. that way you don't have to worry about the frame.

Moving to OKC - opinions needed!
I own a 2001 Jeep Wrangler and currently live in Michigan. I am moving to OKC in July for a new job and am really hoping to be able to take my Jeep with me. The problem is that I have a hardtop with no air conditioning. Would I be dumb to try and tough out the heat with only the front windows rolled down?
I've thought about purchasing a soft top for it but I'm not really sure what the best option is. If any of you OK natives have any advice and want to honestly tell me if I will melt or not I would appreciate it. Thanks!
