|Hemi YJ||I'm all about V8's. I put a Hemi in mine and haven't regretted it once. You'll either need a smaller fuel pump or an inline regulator and fuel return line. That is if you don't already have a mechanical pump in the block. Fuel injection normally runs 45-60psi depending on motor. Carbs run only a couple pounds.|

|The Yeti||The V8 swap sounds like the better option but none of your gauges will work. you will have to buy aftermarket gauges if you want them. Your speedo might work. You will need a bigger radiator for the V8. The V8 would probably make more reliable power. Another thing to consider is the carburetor will not like the cold as well and on steep hill climbs the carbed motor can stall out and not feed at extreme angles. also all the fuel system and starter system is in the fuse block next to the battery so you would have some wire chasing to do to make sure all that still works if you swap the V8. I guess it all comes down to personal preference.|

V8 swap help?
ok so i know this has been discused prolly athousand times but i couldnt find a thread with my particular situation in it.
i just recently purchased a 1994 jeep wrangler 2.5l 4banger with garret t3 turbo intercooled. it blows oil out of dip stick and valve cover breather already investigated that and did a compression test motor needs rebuild. but the tuebo kit does not have a stand alone fuel management system on it soo it runs rich and doesnt idle properly. so my question is do i rebuild the 4 banger and buy a managment system such as split second or megasquirt and witch do u guy prefer for my partuculer project and pay to have it tuned and hope the oil leaking problem is just cause it needs rebuild.
Or because i have a chevy small block 355 attached to a 700r4 trany sitting in my garage now that would be carburated and i know id have to buy engine mounts tranny to transfer case conversion kit,rad make an exhaust but this seems like a better alternative to not knowing much about the turbo set up or how to tune it. or am i missing a bunch of stuff for the v8 swap cause it almost seems pretty simple i could basically get rid of the whole ecm and because it already have a larger fuel pump and regulator for the turbo that wouldnt be an isssue ? i just need some advice thank you.
