|Davejeepma||Do you know how to test the switch to make sure. The problem i having doing that is the 6 prongs. Not sure what goes to what etc. Also are you thinking the switch at the brake master cyl. or the switch at the pedal? i have replaced the one at the pedal but not the one at the cyl.|

I have run into this a few times working on Chevy & GMC trucks. It's one of two things IMO, the multifunction switch, or the brake light switch. I think I would try to remove the brake light switch and look at it. Possibly try to replace it. If it doesn't work, just return the part. I had one test good on an S10 & it drove me nuts, turned out to be the brake switch.
I've also ran into the multifunction switch causing the same issue, but I'd try the brake switch first, easier and cheaper to replace. I have no diagrams, sorry. Please post when you figure it out.

well i thought this was fixed and they were working and now there not. Does anybody have a good wire schematic of the brake switch to help in the diagnosing of this. Or have anybody else had this problem

|Davejeepma||Yes, the tail lamps work, just not the brake lights.|

|AzTJ||Do they light up when you turn on the head lights?|

No brake lights
I'm having a weird problem. I have no brake lights, except for the center one over the spare tire. All bulbs are good and grounds look good. I replaced the brake switch today and still nothing.
I tested the original brake switch and there was power flowing out to the center light, but nothing on any other terminals with pedal depressed. Same situation with the new switch.
Any ideas where to look? There doesn't seem to be any power to the harness. Not sure where to go now. (Also checked all fuses; all seem ok).
