My tires are going to need to be replaced anyway so I'm ordering those. I'm going to go with 33 ATs. The back tires are completely spent (the front are decent though) so I figure I might as well just go ahead and do that along with the balancing.
I'm also bringing my jeep in to a shop here that someone recommended (Low Range) to have the death wobble thing looked at...hopefully its an easy fix. Either way someone can show me physically what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the welcomes and advice guys. And I will def check out the carolina forum when I get this stuff taken care of.

x2 on the tires. One of my tires decided that it didn't like the little weight that they attached to it and slung it off on a trail. Got it rebalanced and no more vibration.
I agree that if you are using your jeep as a daily driver go with the AT's. You'll get a little better mileage and a much smoother, quieter ride.

The tires are 35 inch mud tires, and I have put a lot of highway miles on them since I bought the jeep, so they are probably up to be rotated and balanced soon.
I think the tires may need to be replaced soon...what exactly does "cupped" mean? I was thinking of dropping down to smaller All Terrain tires to get better gas mileage because this is the car I drive on a daily basis, and I also because a friend told me AT's were better for sand and I will be driving on the beach alot this summer.
I will try to get my tires rotated and balanced in the next couple days. Thanks for the advice and quick reply.

I would suggest checking the tires first. That is the cheapest thing to do, too.
Have them rotated and balanced, see if that clears them up. Are they cupped badly?
My '02 TJ had Mud Terrains on it, and if I didn't keep the tires rotated regularly I would get shimmy at 45 mph.

new guy from wilmington nc, need some advice
I recently bought my '97 jeep a few months ago and it seems to have developed a really bad shake or shimmy whenever I hit 35-45 mph. I'm trying to figure out what that could be and also if anyone has any advice on a good shop down here for addressing said problem.
I'm completely new to jeeps and honestly anything mechanical so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
