redz1 Here is a photo of the bikini installed. You can see a little bit of ripples because it is not completely tight since I stretched it out.
But at least from the picture, you can see why I preferred the header/bikini over the spiderweb shade. It completely covers the two front seats, there aren't any openings or gaps.

I honestly don't see why everyone complains about how hard the bikini is to put on. You just snap the header in place, pull a couple straps and velcro and you're set. Had I known that before trying to install it the way the instructions said, I would have been a very happy camper. The instructions say to snap it into the door channels to insure a tighter seal then just strapping it to the roll bar. So that is exactly what I tried to do.

Thanks guys I'll try the freezer idea.

I dont know why this would be locked up. I'm giving everyone else a heads-up not to follow the instructions for the bikini. I didn't say anything mean, this is a review and reviews will not always be positive. Unfortunately, this one is full of negatives.

It just upset me that they say it is compatible with the 2010+, but really, it isn't unless you velcro it down and take off your door surrounds. I tried so hard to shove it into the door surround it, that the door surround came apart.

XJ Knight In before this is unfortunately locked up.. try the freezer as stated above to recontract the material a do it over again.. Contact Geoff@Bestop here, maybe he can send in a note or something so that the instructions can be edited so that future incidents don't happen with what you ran into.. although it seems less and less lately Bestop has always had a good history of customer service.. Sorry about your isolated incitent.. Good luck, I hope it all works out for you

clear lake jeepn I have a bestop bikini...smittybilt bikini...and spidershade...bestop is way better that the smittybilt...although I do like the storage compartments overhead in the smittybilt (heads up GEOFFFFFF) but both pale in comparison to the ease of putting the spidershade on...AND the spidershade is ALOT cooler in the heat as it lets air dont need channels to run a straps to the roll cage

Bestop, did I miss the memo? Here's my review of the mesh bikini.

So I got the header and mesh bikini from Bestop the other day. I decided to go with the bestop mesh bikini instead of the spiderweb shade because I like the idea of having a header, so the bikini is secured more tightly then the spiderweb shade's bungee cords.

Anyways, I tried installing it yesterday and had a hell of a time. I have a 2 door with door surrounds and did exactly as the instructions said. Heres my issue: if the bikini is for 2007+ models, the instructions should have mentioned "WILL NOT FIT ON 2010+ MODEL DOOR SURROUNDS".
A warning would have been nice, before I spent 3 hours in the hot sun trying to jam the damn bikini into my door surround until it broke. Yes, thats right, following the bestop instructions completely broke one of my door surrounds.

I called up bestop and they informed me that I have to take the door surrounds OFF if I have a 2010+ model. NOW THEY TELL ME? They didn't even care that I broke my door surround because of their instructions.

Now I'm left with a mesh bikini thats stretched out so much it doesnt even sit straight (because I spent so much time stretching it trying to get it to fit on the door surround) and a broken door surround.

So where's my review? I don't have one, since the bikini doesn't sit right because I tried so hard to follow the instructions it stretched itself out.

And thanks for not giving a damn when I called.

On a side note, I still admit the material is a lot better then than the spiderweb shade (which looks like a tarp). The mesh is the perfect size to let the sun in but the heat out, and had I been informed how to install it before I destroyed it, I think I would be a happy camper!

Would I buy this product again? Yes, if I had 2007-2009 door surrounds.
Would I still use this product without the door surrounds? Yes, I would like to if I hadn't stretched it out so much it just draped over my head now.
Am I disappointed Bestop didn't seem to care when I called? Hell yes.
