Chris wouldn't steer me wrong.... it was a franken-frame and not from the jeep it was supposed to be from.

As for the tubing you buy it bent and weld it..

AzTJ Phhft... How would she build a chassis without a bender, tons of tubing, and any welding experience?

The deciding factor will be who builds it.

tiny terror Well, I got pictures of it today. Lots of them. Really great pictures... and after sitting and going over them with Cain, I'll be passing on the FrankenCJ. Disappointed, but glad Chris knows his stuff. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something.

Scout Cool. Post em up here.

tiny terror Thanks Scout, he's sending more pictures tomorrow.

Scout A 14 bolt is GM's one ton axle. Mr.Clifford has a 14 bolt front axle that's been modified to a 13 bolt. The bottom has been shaved for added ground clearance which eliminates the lowest bolt.

It's somewhat equivalent to a Dana 60.

tiny terror I'm talking to a guy about an old CJ to rebuild. It's a tub, frame, axles, and 35's. He just offered me a "14 bolt if I were going with bigger tires". What's that mean??
02-23-2008 07:44 PM
Jonny15 It's only got 5 slots in the grill, come on thats not right, its a jeep!!

AzTJ I think you need a second Jeep then.
02-22-2008 01:52 PM
tiny terror I'm thinking maybe something a little more beat up. Those are a little flashy for me.

Scout Something like this would be handy.

02-22-2008 11:20 AM
Scout If I did it all over again I would have bought a tube chassis and built it up. I figure even with brand new parts and paying someone to do the hard stuff it could be done for under $ 40k. I easily have more than that in my Jeep.
02-22-2008 11:11 AM
tiny terror Think it would be cheaper for me to consider a trail rig? With axles, transfer case, lift, SYE, drive shaft, tires, rims.... jeeze. And hell, on 35's that jeep is going to pee gas all over the place.
