Does anyone have photos of an installed Addco 179 front sway bar on a TJ.
I need to make sure that I have mine installed properly. This tire rub and restricted turning radius is annoying.

I'm getting a bit lost here.
- What is the tire rubbing on, the sway bar? Is the sway bar centered? If not, pry it over. It is not uncommon for the bar to slide over. The rubber bushings may be a bit whore out. Replace them if the bar does not stay centered or there are collars that you can bolt on the bar to keep it centered.
- Can't tell from the picture but I assume the ball/socket joint has seperated. That is very common. You can pick up a new link at any parts store.
- I don't know how a sway bar gets bent and I hope the seperated link was not the reason you replace the whole bar.

|BigSchmoop||I have the old sway bar, I was contemplating putting it back on and ditching the Addco aftermarket one. I may have to replace one of the links. Take a look at this picture and tell me what you think?|

So someone told you your sway bar is bent? Have you actually verified that with your own eyes or are you just taking their word for it?
I don't think you understand 1) how tough it would be to bend the sway bar and for it to stay bent and 2) how non-critical it would be if it was slightly bent. Are you sure they weren't referring to a sway bar LINK?
Purchasing a new stock or similar sway bar is just wasted money IMO. Either upgrade or get one out of a guy's garage for free.

|BigSchmoop||I was told my sway bar was bent therefore the Addco replacement. I called the mfg and they told me that this was the correct part for my TJ. I really hate the tire rubbing that takes place when in tight turns. I did not have this with the OEM.|

|Imped||People throw stock sway bars away so spending any money on one is pointless. If you're going to drop any coin, at least upgrade to the Currie AR. Much superior than running completely disconnected off the road.|

|BigSchmoop||I purchased the Addco 179 front sway bar and now I am experiencing tire rub with stock tires 235 75R15 on stock frame no lift when turning tight in parking lot. Is anyone else having this issue with the Addco Front sway bar?|

|Phil05LJ||Man you are really having a time with that sway bar! I have one last suggestion for you. Since your looking to replace the whole bar, that means you'll be removing the original one. Remove the original bar with the joint still stuck in it, take it with you to a local garage or machine shop and see if they will press the dreaded joint out. Most all shops will have a hydraulic press that should do the trick. I know you've exhausted many suggestions to no avail, although you didn't mention that you ever tried a pickle fork... Whatever, if you have a shop press it out, you won't have to buy a replacement bar which sounds like its hard to find and I doubt a shop would take more than a half hour. $30 is my guess as to what they would charge but be prepared for more. Chances are if you get one from a salvage yard the old links could still be connected to them, then it's here we go again, but maybe not. I wish you luck, an hour job has turned into a week long nightmare for you.|

|Pock Heebs||I see one at wholesalemopar.com for the price you listed....I'm willing to buy the bushings for it but what else is there to use that I can't use my existing hardware for?|

Yep the Addco has vertical holes, wanna guess why?
The OEM stock bar is $104.48 wholesale, will be higher at the dealer.
For $188.99 you are getting a better bar, and EVERYTHING you will need to install it.
All bushings, brackets, links, etc. And all better then the originals.
