TrueNorth If you take the cover off your rear storage bin the stock spare tire fits well behind the back seat.

bobjenkins Dang I really need to get a spare tire carrier

TheMadBotanist I took mine off a couple weeks ago, it simply could not be easier. There is a small plastic vent thing on the inside of the gate, pop that out and you'll be able to easily disconnect the wiring for the third brake light. Then just undo the bolts and it comes right off. I'll take some pics when I get home, assuming no one beats me to the punch.

nvkid Is this the same garage?

Dukebd21 I'm also curious if this is possible... i took the tire off and would like to take the whole carrier harness off as well. Not sure about the wiring either for the brake light. It looks like there's a vent sort of thing on the door as well as the left over holes from the bumpers. I'm thinking it might not look very good removing the carrier. Does anyone have a pic with it removed? Ill attempt to take it off tomorrow and post a pic.

InfernoGirl Put the screws back. My TJ had a plug on the inside of the tailgate that I used to plug the hole where the lights were threaded through.
