rodelliot OK, I'm pretty much clueless about mechanical stuff. Just got my YJ ('93) a month ago and the rubbing has been driving me crazy. Thanks for the link arcountryboy; couldn't have made it any easier than that!

Wesboy Can't imagine you would need more than 2 washers on each side. Even 1 washer on each side makes a big difference.
I've never noticed much difference in the turning circle but full-lock turning in reverse is certainly affected.

Shelby427 Back of the spindles, look for a 5/16" bolt sticking out. It will look like its threaded into a nut on the spindle. Remove the bolt, the nut will come with it, it's welded to the bolt.

Stuff a couple of washers under the nut, reinstall the bolt. Do that same on the other side. Check for rubbing. Add more washers as needed.

Adding the washers moves the bolt out, so it hits the stops sooner.

You've now adjusted your steering stops.

How to adjust steering stops?

Could someone throw me a bone and give me a little tutorial on how to adjust the steering stops?
I want to prevent rubbing on my lower control arms up front. It only rubs on alot of flex at full turn. and Its not worth blowing the money for new wheels yet.
