|Angel Pizarro||Hi I live in PR how can I get this European style bumper|
|11-08-2012 01:28 PM|
What I ended up doing was finding some really nice, splash guards/mud flaps. I had to measure the inside of the front fenders and find a quality flap and texture that I liked, it took some looking.
I then mounted them to the front bumper and front fenders, this covered up the ugly gap between the fender and bumper and keeps the backwards splash off the front bumper, from the front tires. They go inside the front fenders so all edges are covered up, looks nice.
You can see better pictures of my Jeep at 4 wheel.com its under rides on the first page. I havent kept up here.
Your only other option is to spend $1,200.00 for AEV Steel bumper. Yes their are other bumpers and if you want a hard core winch type steel bumper, you have many choices. Most guys do, but some of us want something more subtle. No offense to anyone, so no negative mail please, thats why I am not on here anymore very much.

I'll sell you mine.

|mcdull||I believe the bumpers were designed just to pass the safety regulation and test in the stock form. If you're not going seroius offroad, the apporach angle isn't a matter. And if you're, you're going to change that plastic thing anyway.|

|Void For Vagueness||Those eurobumpers remind me of the fugly front bumper on my '06 Dakota- that thing stuck out about 6 inches too far for my taste. Maybe the same Chrysler designer drew them both up.|

Try finding a guy on here who wants to trade you one or look on the international ebay.

Still big Q
Technically speeking can Europian one be swapped with US bumpers front and rear
Need your opinion

Always remember that the advertised APPROACH angle is only for advertisement comparison and general marketing-
The approach angle can be increased up to 50% with angle approach and/or shorty bumper--
The DEPARTURE angle usually will stay the same and is always DECREASED BY hitch and accessories !

|sportman||Thanks guys, but I wish the answer from technical point of view, installation and fixing does US bumper fit 100% in place of European one (front and rear) so I will remove old European ones and order OEM US spec. and swap them does it work?|

|rightsideLori||I'm looking for one for my rhd! I hate it when the only dirty part of my wrangler is the front bumper that's been splashed!|
|12-08-2011 08:33 AM|
|Vin||The rear European bumper has the license plate on the rear of the bumper, so it extends down a few more inches. Not good when wheeling.|
|12-08-2011 08:05 AM|
|kik||No it's not. The "European" bumpers are primarily for pedestrian safety. I guess if you waffle a European with a JK they won't get more killed than if you had a US spec or off road bumper. So, in the infinite wisdom of some believing that there is a lot of pedestrian waffling going on in Europe, Europeans have to tolerate that bumper.|

|SylvanSahara||In addition to the above mentioned differences the Euro rear also has reflectors in the rear bumper for higher visability at night and fog sitiuations|

You can probably change to Us bumpers but I wonder if it will be legal in Europe.
In some way I think that Jeep USA had to change the bumpers so they could be sold in Europe, european rules?.
I do not think that is legal with the front US bumpers with the 2 front Tow hooks and that the open space to the tires in front, might throw rocks forward???
The rear US bumper do not have the reg. plate in the middle, the european bumper has the reg. plate in the middle so it can be seen from both left and right side. I think that the spare wheel is in the way to see the reg. plate on a US wrangler from a right angle.
I dont think it is legal in europe, If You find out more please tell us.
Best regards from Sweden
