found some 7" flares from omix-ada and rugged ridge. both for 150$.
is there a difference?
is drilling required to install them?
how do they look if i don´t paint them? like the stock unpainted TJ flares?

omix ada? never heard about this... do you have a link to a hop where i can see a price?

i already have the rims and i don´t want to install others with another backspacing.
i will install one rim this weekend and then i will see if a 7" flare would be enough.

If he had an table saw he could possibly cut out a 1 inch slice from the older plastic flares and then do some work and seal it up so its just like a solid piece.

You could put washers in between, but that would make the fender have a gap in between the fender and the flare.

I was thinking more along the lines of a full size spacer, the shape of the fender flare.

I would call bush cracker or another flare maker and ask if they make custom 8 inch flares.

Levinoss You could always get a 7 inch and build a spacer to put between it.

Get out there and measure it by hand and see if a 7 inch flare would fit with what you got.

nicolas-eric no, tube fenders are too high, they aren´t allowed here.

was my calculation above correct? i´m a "bit" confused about that. if i added only 0.5" too much some 7" flares could be enough...

are there really no wider flares - like 8"...?
08-24-2007 02:47 PM
debruins sounds liek time for some home made tube fenders!!!!!!

nicolas-eric 7" is "only" 17.7 centimeters.

perhaps my calculation is wrong.

the new rim has an other offset (-28 millimeters instead of +15). that means that the rim is 43 millimeters wider.

the rim is 8.5" wide instead of my actual 7.5". that sould mean that the rims/tires are another 0.5" wider.

the tire is also 1" wider (12.5" instead of 11.5"). that sould mean that the rims/tires are some more 0.5" wider.

with this calculation the new rims/tires are about 70 millimeters wider on each side than my actual ones.

am i right? or are these thoughts wrong?

Levinoss Biggest iv seen over the net is 7inch, you may have make a call and make a special order?
