Jeff Kay Hi Everybody,
newly registered 2nd J.K.
My first post is in response to an older forum subject. It inspired me to email Top Gear U.K directly, register and restart the subject.

Top Gear U.K hasn't coverd these three great vehicles together.
Imagine those three goofing around in the 4x4's we know and love.
Here is the email I sent as follows.

Subject: General Purpose?

Hello Top Gear,

I would like you to do a three teared review and compare the Land Rover Defender, Toyota FJ Cruiser and the Jeep Wrangler 4 door Rubicon. On road, offroad functions and features.
Here's a link to the forum that got me thinking.

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f19/top...eep-99442.html

Why haven't we seen a comparative review in regards to these very capable machines on your program? I've been watching Top Gear for years. Maybe I missed that episode.

Thanks for all the laughs over the years.

Jeff.

Value only matters if you plan to sell. If it's your car, do what you want to it. Stock is boring.

6InARowMakesItGo i would rather have a modified modern vette and a stock old vette.

Ibuildembig And honestly that goes for pretty much everything from the 60's and earlier. The only exception would be the tri5 chevys, but....an original convertible will still bring more than 85 percent of the customs. Just do what I do, take junk and make what you want out of it

GoldenSahara00 x2^

We have a vette shop that does the older years near me, he always has about 10-12 different ones there at once, he gets them done, resells them, and buys more. makes a ton of money. the more original the more they are worth.

6InARowMakesItGo this is one of the most entertaining shows on tv. i could really care less what there opinions on cars are. most of the ones they think are good i wouldn't look twice at.

i'd rather have a Z06 with a turbo than a ZR1

OwnED. He sold it years ago to buy a Lambo Gallardo Spyder.
Which he sold.

Ibuildembig ^^^^agreed 100 percent

Mr. Sinister Given the money, there's other cars I'd have over the CTS-V as well, but it's still the fastest production sedan in the world.
Short of a Veyron, there's no car I'd have over the ZR-1. It's the complete package. 0-60 in 3.7, 0-100 in 7, 11.3 @ 131mph in the 1/4 mile, 7:19 around the 'ring, yet still docile enough during regular driving to let your mother drive to church and comfortable enough to compete with the best GT cars in the world, all while knocking down 26mpg on the highway. All for a hell of a lot less than anything near it in terms of total package.

jim turner 1 well, it was grudgingly said but at the end they said they weren't worth having, when they were making the episode when they were driving from Reno to the Salt Flats the Challenger had to be bought as they were told they would not get one on loan as they never said good things about American vehicles. James May actually loved his Cadilac but at the end of the piece in the studio they basically said would you buy one, answer no, don't waste your money on an American car. twats

unless they are in a porsche, ferrari, lambo, bentley all cars suck!.
they are prats.

GoldenSahara00 Everyone on WF donate a dollar, we can buy a Land Rover, do our own test vs all the Jeeps, cj yj tj and jk, then put it on the youtube. then we trash the land rover and drive over it in the credits. we also send it to top gear

They wouldn't dare do an actual comparison of the Jeep's offroad capabilities compared to say, their own Land Rover, because it would be an embarrassment for the Brits. The LR is a very capable vehicle, but they'd bias the test and only talk about how the Jeep is terrible on the roads and how it's interior is crap and it's noisy and handles like a turnip cart and so on. Not to mention the price differential....
I love the show and it's probably my favorite on TV, but they have a huge bias against American cars. Remember the Camaro vs. Mercedes test? Perfect example. They LOVED the Holden/Vauxhall Monaro VXR, but mocked the Pontiac GTO, and it's the exact same car!!

Zetsumei That was pretty awesome lol. Now if I could drive my Jeep on water...

One of the episodes they tested the JKU 2.8 liter diesel. I forgot which one.
