|kfdjason7620||I took my v support out and mounted mine directly in front of Rad, it was more aggravating taking out the radiator than changing the tranny!!|

Thanks for the responces! One more question, does anyone know for sure which trans line is the return line from the cooler to the trans? At the cooler is it pass. or driver side, or at the trans is it the upper or lower line?

|doclouie||Do not by-pass the radiator tank as it is one more radiator for the fluid to be colder. Run the two in series.I used zip ties up front to hold the cooler and it works fine.|

|computeruser||A nice stacked plate cooler, mounted to the V in front of the radiator (weld on crosspieces to attach the cooler to) should work fine. I plumbed the lines straight to the cooler and bypassed the tank in the radiator, and have been fine with this setup on a DD TJ year-round in the mid-west.|

|doclouie||B&M makes some good coolers. If you look elsewhere the most efficient coolers are all aluminum. They have the best thermal transfer of heat. Place it right in front of the radiator. Remember that bigger is better when it comes to tranny coolers. The transmission oil breaks down quickly once it gets hot. My last tranny in my Jeep had 250,000 miles on it before my wife ran the Jeep through a light pole, but that is another story.|

This is the one that I have on my 04 Rubi. I have it mounted on the V support in front of the Rad. Take the headlight out and the cooler will slide in there through that hole. You will want to take the line coming out of the rad and into the cooler. Take the cooler and turn it sideways and the in should be at the bottom and the out is at the top.
Also do a complete oil and filter change. Not just wants in the trans pan but whats in the converter.

Which trans cooler
Want to add a trans cooler to my 05 Rubi. but want to get the most bang for my buck. Which style cooler do you guys like and where are you mounting it? Like the one Quadratek shows with it's own fan and frame mount, but seems a little high priced...
