Dean Nice! I have a black half door JK-U, and I'm having the same problem with tires right now. The one I bought didn't have the bigger tires, and my sales guy told me that it would be way too expensive to add them on from them, and to just buy them after the fact.

I figure I'll wear these little tires out and buy some bigger ones next year and put a lift on it too. Until then, I'll spend this year adding smaller enhancements here and there.

I thought I was the only person around with a half door 4dr! Great color, and you'll love it! I've been having a blast with mine so far!!! Please post some more pics when you get some new parts added!

lift and tires

Thanks for the compliments. Yep, I'm chompin' at the bit to get a lift and 35's. The breakover angle is starting to annoy me a little. I'll probably have to wear out these tires before the wife will ok new ones- especially with boy number two coming in a couple of months.

Finally bought my JK-U

It didn't take long after my first test drive a couple of weeks ago. Even after my hang-up with the plastic grille, I broke down last Thursday and purchased my 2007 JK-Unlimited. I searched far and wide and found one that had almost everything I was wanting. So here's the specs:

4x4 (it really sucks you have to specify now)
Red Rock Crystal Pearl
Manual Tranny
4:10 gears
Locking Rear Differential and Electric Disconnect
Infinity stereo w/sub (didn't want it but I like it)
Upgrade Pkg with tow hooks, fog lights, tint, etc.
*Half Doors - very important upgrade

The JKU is replacing my 2000 4x4 Nissan Xterra with 3" S.L., 33" BFG MT's, Bilstein shocks, and Gibson exhaust. It also has 190,000 miles- never had any engine problems. Anyway, I felt kinda bad but it's nice to get back into a Wrangler (had a '97 TJ for a few years) and it's also nice to have two solid axles again.

MSRP was $27,100 and got them down to $25,700 with a free Jeep Jamboree ticket and a year of free oil changes.

The only thing missing on my new JK is a trailer hitch. Anyone have any suggestions on a rear bumper tire carrier hitch? I saw Smittybuilt had a good looking one.

Here's a few pics (sorry for the driveway shots).
