I'll give that a try. My main back seat passengers won't need those head rests for a while.

Sounds like the best option so far....

Maybe that release and strap down trick will work for me.

From what I've read, the 4-doors' headrests do not come out like they do on the 2-doors. When the seats are flipped forward, the headrests flip backwards.

Jase I also read that you can release the seat enough for the headrests to fold back, and then use bungy cords to strap them down to the childseat anchor points. That way, if you do have passengers back there, you still have the headrests.. remember they are a safety feature and should be there if you have passengers in the back.

Jase You can remove the headrest and still have the medal prongs there.. is that an option for you?

ezio350 I hear you, I dont think there is an easy way to remove them on the 4 doors. I couldnt figure an easy way to do so. We did remove them on my wife's 2 door, that was a cake....

back seat head rests

I was looking out my rear view mirror the other day and was thinking....I sure could see a lot more back there if those annoying head rests were gone. Then I remembered that they are part of the fold flat rear seat mechanism on the JK Unimited (not sure if there are head rests on the JK backseat). So I looked and couldn't find any easy way to remove them.

Has anybody tried to remove their rear head rests yet? I'm assuming it won't be in the owner's manual.
