MikeDSC Burning it. The PO states the smell is from exhaust leak.

Plumber1 Is it burning fuel or leaking it. I was having an issue that turned out to be one of the rubber hoses from the fuel tank to where it connects to the steel lines at the rear of the jeep.

Jeffd34 Probably needs a tune up. I had a strong fuel smell too. Turns out one of the clamps that attached the fuel line to the fuel filter was loose. I tightened it up and the smell went away.

HELP 95 YJ Fuel Smell

I just purchased a 95 YJ today. I noticed a pretty strong fuel/carbon like smell, almost like it is a bad O2 sensor. On the drive home I fuel up before getting on the freeway and burned over 3/4 tank in about 150 miles. Anyone experience something like this. The engine has been rebuilt and has about 3K miles on it. I am guessing (more like hoping) it just needs a tune up.
