A little more progress

Well we were able to work on the Jeep again this weekend, here's a pic of the progress we made. The majority of the Rhino liner is gone now, taking all the pieces and parts off now. Doesnt look like the body work will be too hard, just slight dents nothing that required to fully bondo everything.lol My jeep now looks like a dune buggy.lol Making an edge for the fenders is next on the list, also took off the rear fender flares and discovered those were cut as well.

Charlie.B.7 And yes silicone underneath the Bondo............things that make you go hummmmmmm!

New Build

Starting all over........thought I would post our slow progress. Anyone else working on a project? I would love to see it. =o)

I posted a pic of the first day we brought it home.
1. Fenders, grill and rockers were rhino lined - all seemed peachy
2. Fenders were cut- ugh not happy with this- we plan on making some tube like edge to make it look a little better.
3. had multiple chips on the rhino liner, after close inspection we started digging.......... what we found under the rhino is about a quarter inch of bondo- silicone under that. We cannot figure out why they did this, sure is a pain in the butt to get it off. We found no holes, no wrinkles just a small dent. I have no idea what the PO was thinking covering the entire surface with Bondo.............WTH that is abuse lol !!!! Ugh!!

Its more important than the pretty stuff as my husband keep reminding me. HEE HEE

Send more pics when you can they are awesome! Happy 4th of July!

Charlie.B.7 Hey Clay,
No I ended up getting a spare tire spacer. It works well on the 33's, we keep checking to make, sure its not too much weight on the tail gate. Sales person said it would be fine but will not work for 35's. It is also kinda resting on the hitch, so I think the helps hold it some. I couldnt afford the swing carrier. OMG they are like 300-500 dollars. Here's a link for the part, think I paid 71.00 at the store. Warrior Products Spare Tire Spacers - Spare Tire Spacer - Tire Carriers - Bumpers, Tire Carriers and Winch Mounts - by 4 Wheel Parts

Yahoooooo! "Few" odds and ends?( PERK) I like the sound of that already!
Share pics when you get them.

Husband and sons are rolling their eyes at these items.

mata_marcos It looks nice! Bfg's were a good touch. That's what I originally had on my jeep but 31's. I also like the nerf bars can't put them on mine I'm going for clearance.

New Wheels/ Question

Newest Pic of the Jeep............finally got my wheels, and Nerf bars. We noticed that our new tires (33's) dont seem to fit on the spare tire carrier, and it seems like it would be a lot of weight on the tailgate. Anyone have any suggestions? I looked at some swing away tire carrier's and they are 300+.

Build Thread

Anyone one else working on a project and want to share pics?
Here is my 1989 Jeep Wrangler, with new rebuilt. The paint is blah, the person who painted it, did not do a good job. They attempted to do a metalic sliver, however they did not paint it evenly, as the doors are slightly a different shade, and the hood is also. What I am doing now is having my cousin paint the doors for me. They will be black, it might look a little weird, I will find out this week what they look like on. But probably will not get the whole thing painted until next year sometime. The interior was a mess when we bought it, but hey cant complain only paid 3800.00. LOL Excuse our garage, we have done a corvette, scout and now, this project in this garage. We had a lot going on. You gotta love the baby tires on the lift. waiting on rims, should be in this week.
