the second one, i had a lot more trouble with lol.. i had drilled a hole, when i got home i got another ez out and that broke in there too!... i got another drillbit to drill it out and the drill bit broke in there too... i swear im cursed lol... but anyway, i just kept drilling, because the drillbit was stuck almost right in the middle, it kept pushing the new bits a bit to the side, so i ended up stretching the hole 2 to 3 mm to the side and rethreaded it. Now i have to make the hole in the pan and gasket bigger so fit right. I think this should hole, ill just NEVER take it out, ever again lol...

i had a question about the rtv sealant.... should i use that all around or just around the bolt in question...? basically what im trying to ask is if its safe to use the rtv sealant instead of the regular gasket sealant.
RTV (Room-temperature vulcanizing) is gasket sealant ,Permatex (the blue stuff) is very common and should work but it also comes in other colors ,I like the permatex black RTV myself but you should be ok with whatever.

dale 3 If it leaks with what ever you do.Start another hole if your on a flange only and don't drill deep, rethread with a bottom tap, that's a flat type tap no point.Pay attention to drill sizes so you don't oversize hole.

Abomination93 If the bolts are not next to one another put rtv on it and run it, you might get a little bit of a leak but nothing is worry about. Hell I tore a hole in my oil pan the size of a quarter and patched it with jb weld and it held great for a month.

Square_Eyes That's about all you can do for the one that's been drilled out, for the one that still has some threads sticking out you can find a nut about the same size as the broken bolt an have someone tac weld it on and try to unscrew it when it cools, I had to do that for a broken bolt on my vacuum disconnect for my 4wheel drive. I wouldn't worry to much about not getting that one bolt out, put some high temp RTV sealant on it and I shouldn't leak at all if you have the rest tightened. Just my .02 hope it helped some

4Jeepn ez out might work. Or perhaps drill it out, then re tap it.

Bolt head Broke! PLEASE HELP!

I was replacing the oil pan gasket on my 90 jeep.... this was the first time i was doing this... i noticed that 2 of the bolts were different than the others, but i figured it would be ok (they were different in color not shape or size...) anyway, i put everything back and they both suddenly snap when i tighten it a tad too much. DAMN!!!!

one of them has about 1/4 inch sticking out so ive been trying to use vise grips to take it out, but the vice grips keep popping off... im guessing the bolt was on too tight...

the other one was almost flat with the engine block thing... i drilled a hole in it, starting from a realy small size, then gradually got bigger, then i used a "bolt extractor" tool that i got from autozone, but that sh*t broke in there too! i hate cheap quality tools!!! anyway, i keep drilling holes untill i remove that too.. now i have a mm or 2 left... im kinda lost now =/ i dont want to mess up the origional screw line things (teeth?) so what can i do? i tried jamming stuff in there but it doesnt help pull it out... =/

someone please help me! its been sitting this way for like 2 days now =/ either tell me what to do or come by and help me? i live in glendale CA id appreciate any help and be willing to pay for your time.
