I used Red led's on my 2004 Wrangler, worked out great, everything is red including the Radio and HVAC controls and they are dimmable. Great cheap med.

With regards to the bright spots, did you order the multi LED bulbs? Some of those that have posted about uneven lighting had ordered single led bulbs.
Mine is illuminated evenly

Don't know about some of your questions, but I'm thinking maybe the dome light you put in didn't have enough LED 's. This is the one I put in my Jeep, and it is plenty bright. It is oversized so it may not fit in your housing, but it worked in mine. https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...wer/1563/3624/
I did mine in the cool white, and I don't have spots that are brighter like your E on the gas gauge is. That is kinda weird.

So I finally got my bulbs and went to try this tonight.
First of all I realized I accidentally ordered only 2 bulbs for the HVAC controls. It's less than $2.50 for the bulb, but $3 to ship it! Not so happy about that.
Here are the stock lights
Here are the new "cool white" led lights. I don't like that the light is not spread evenly, for example on the fuel gauge the E is way brighter than the F. Same with the engine temp. Not the effect or overall brightness I was expecting. Not a radical difference. Also, mine definitely dim, seems to work for some, but not others.
I also did the overhead light. The new one is much whiter and cleaner to the eye, HOWEVER, I feel the old halogen bulb may provide more useful light. Left original, right new. Thoughts?
Finally, I found this random harness and have t a clue what it's for. Wasn't hooked up. Was located under the top trim piece of the dash and seems to go down to the right of the vent. Sitting above the glove box in photo.

|Rsplash93||Hey gang, I have read through 50+ pages about the led dash install. Got mine in last night. But I didnt think to get one for the OD indicator bulb. Does anyone know what number it is for Superbrightleds web site? I will order the dome and tranny light with it.|

Finally got my LEDs!! Can't wait to install tomorrow. The mail runs later in the day this time of year. I ordered 1 week ago exactly. Not bad, I will be taking most of the dash apart anyways since I'll be painting it. I've already done a few areas that were easy to do so should be fun.
I only need 7 total but ordered 8 just in case. Ha! Remember these are polarized so they go in one way. So if they don't work or don't seem as bright as the others you will need to turn them and remember to check them before bolting everything back up.
That's the paint I'm using 2-3 light coats and then 2-3 clear coats. It is holding up very well. I did the center bezel bout 6 months ago and it hasn't scratched yet. I recently sanded it down because I'm doing it and the vents blue. I originally wanted all black which may still happen. Lol. Sure u all understand.

|Jay_Hawker||Has anyone done this to an 04 jeep wrangler sport? I'm lost on the website and have no idea which bulbs to order... the part numbers listed in this thread don't pop up when I put my vehicle in the bulb finder... really wanting to turn my dash lights blue!|

|Sulkster||Awesome mod! I'm doing blue and placing order shortly. I have a 97 TJ w/ slider HVAC so I'll need 7 bhp's. Will order 8-9 in case I have any faulty one's. Close to $40. Just curious if anyone has the most recent promo code?😂. Every lil bit helps. I know as soon as I place order someone will post it. Lol. Btw mixing colors will blend together and according to other posts they don't turn out well. I did see a few posts using 2 differ colors which divides in between the speedometer gauge. Back around page 70 if on iPhone. They used amber and green. Not bad.|

|djwithanxj||Has anyone done this using multiple colors? Wanted to do this to my girlfriends dash, and she suggested I did it using LEDs to make it like a rainbow. Just curious as to if anyone had already tried it.|
|11-12-2014 11:27 PM|
And that one would be plenty bright enough. I ordered the Cool White flavor.

And could you send a link to which one will fit/work best or whichever one you personally used? Thanks I appreciate the help.

|mister ed||194 bulb. Don't get the 5-LED bulb. It won't fit. The LEDs stick out on the side too much.|

I have scoured this thread, going through 30-40 of the 57 pages. Maybe I'm just cruddy at skimming, but I cannot seem to find the size bulb to replace the shifter light in my automatic. That is the light for the PRND21 plate...
Does anyone know what bulb that is from super-bright-leds? Please if you know help! Or send me the link to the page if you know it. Thanks!

Ok...i've read through bits and pieces of this thread but I haven't seen anything on this...
I have a '98 with the slide HVAC controls and I got one bulb to light up(left side) but the other bulb never lit...and once I turned it on I got a nice little puff of smoke from the bulb area. Any ideas? Now neither bulb will light up after trying to plug them both in and then I got nice little puff of smoke from the other side. Did I just fry something? I'm half tempted to just find another HVAC control.
Oh...and taking out the gauge cluster is a bit PITA if you have a the Poison Spyder bolt in cage...just saying.

Does anyone know the sizes on the courtesy lights below the dash & the overhead light on a 2000 TJ? I've seen several different sizes & I'm tired of being wrong haha.
I'm wanting some LEDs to replace them. Thanks!
