It effects your night vision looking out the windshield.

I agree and said that earlier and someone said that when they pulled out the stock bulb they were on the bulbs. Makes no sense to me.

Red is the best color light for night vision. The Navy uses red passageway lighting on internal lighting after sunset on all ships so if you have to go above deck you will be able to see better at night. All aircraft I have seen use red instrument lighting .

Neil F. Which one (link) Like said, careful some multi leds are too big
Yesterday 08:38 PM
flowerfistandbestialwail Awesome, thanks! I guess that was the issue, I ordered a 194 5 smd.

Neil F. a 194, 168, T10 all have the right base. You hace to be careful with the led style as some of the miti leds are too wide to fit in. You can get them dirt cheap on ebay direct from china. The ones with a cluster of 4 leds (not the smd) fit fine or a single let will do.

flowerfistandbestialwail Anyone have a clue which light to purchase to swap out the light for an auto's shifter (in a '99 if it matters)? The one I got that the website pointed me to wound up not fitting, and I'd like to not buy half a dozen through trial and error...

Neil F. Superbrite has red, blue, yellow, green........

97WranglerOhio I love this mod. Instantly gives everything a new look. Looks good flowerfistandbestialwail

flowerfistandbestialwail My phone's inability to take a decent photo in low light will never cease to amaze me.
Once I upgraded the lights in the HVAC I was pleasantly surprised to find they were already quite blue and matched my radio rather nicely.

NYjeeper_TJ A good night shot with some led light bar action too!

X2 and many have the ability to change the color of the radio as well.

I saw a thread a long time ago where the poster took a red sharpie to the knob/button bulbs behind the faceplate and it illuminated nicely. The only way to change the frwquency display would be to affix say a piece of stage light gel.

97WranglerOhio I could be wrong but I would guess that the radio bulbs will be a bit more in depth including (but not limited to) radio disassembly and possible soldering/unsoldering.

NYjeeper_TJ Looks way better at night! Well worth the 50 bucks to me. Best thing is my radio has about the same color blue to match. Glad I can finally see my dash now!

Night Prowler Anybody ever wire their dash lights to stay on all the time? Even in daylight they look bright.
10-22-2014 08:04 PM
97WranglerOhio That looks awesome NYjeeper!
