Barrier Thanks for the responses.
So if someone orders a Dealer Installed Hitch or if the Dealer Installs the Hitch rather then the Factory it will not have the Trailer Sway. No matter what the dealer says.
Very interesting, I came close to buying a 2010 Unlimited that had a dealer Installed Hitch, I guess I would have been screwed.

rics1997 I have it and think it's worth it. I tow a 7X12 enclosed trailers and especially with my two door, I feel a lot more comfortable with it. Of course since I didn't tow with one without it I can't say for sure how much better it helps but still feel safer. Did have to get better gears to tow because the 3.73 just wasn't enough. Would think the new motor will help but still probably wish you had at least 4.10 even with new motor and transmission. I have 4.88 right now and still wish I had gone to 5.13 when towing.

Texas TC On my 2007 Wrangler, I added the hitch and wiring but no suspension work. On my 2011, the tow package was on the Jeep when I bought it from the dealer. My opinion is that the TSC is worth the extra cost. When towing my 5x9' utility trailer, the 2011 feels more stable and secure. I do, however, miss the 4:10 gears that were an option I had on the 2007 JK. When towing, the lower gear really helps. 3:73 is fine for the highway but not so great for towing.

daggo66 The TSC cannot be added after the fact. Whether or not it's wothwhile, I can't tell you. I added my hitch and wiring aftermarket and have no issues. Of course I have the proper gearing and HD suspension.

Trailer Tow Package 2012 Wrangler

Hi All, I have asked this before and perhaps nobody knows but here goes. I want to order the Trailer Tow Package on the 2012 I am about to order but for a $100 hitch and wires going for $300 from Jeep I would rather spend the couple of hours doing it myself.
I wonder if the Trailer Sway program can be programmed at the Dealer? I also wonder if it is worthwhile? I don't plan on Towing a major Trailer but perhaps my MC Trailer.
thanks
