|GoldenSahara00||I removed mine too this morning, haha. I have everything done now, just time to spray it took forever. its really windy out and is making masking stuff a pain but I got it done. They store didnt have self etching primer which is Bs... so I got pro grade primer which is almost the same. Just hit a few spots with that, waiting about 15 mins that the first coat of Upol. finally.|

|GoldenSahara00||Anyone know if those squares of sealant/tape are supposed to be there under the seats? I messed my passenger side one up, and it just covers up a hole, that goes into the tub. it is hollow inside, but is it sealed or can stuff drain out?|

Front seat belts
Pop the rubber cover on the roll bar. Remove the three bolts. Then remove the bolt under the box on the floor of the tub
Rear seat belts
Remove both bolts, one under the box. Then rotate each box 90 degrees and they can be removed

I have a manual and when I did mine I accidentally f'd up the square plastic surround clip thing that holds the shift boot to the center console. getting the center console off the shift boot took more finagling than I had patience for I guess.
Once I got it all back together, I ended up buying a can of black RTV and going around the boothole/center console edge with that. It worked and looks great, just in case you end up making the same mistake. RTV is flexible and strong enough to hold it in place. 2 months later no issues.
Also, the shift plate that you are talking about only sticks out about a half inch/inch from the console bottom. I just sprayed mine with the raptor and was done with it.
BTW erickpl's write up on tub lining is about as good as it gets, even if he did use the wrong kind .

|GoldenSahara00||and any info on the shifters, and how many bolts on the seat belts? I was looking at them but I had trouble with my rears a month or two ago. couldnt get them to pop off the bar.|

Thanks, I was taking a look at the console last night good tips on those bolts thanks! I already have rear seatbelts out, I probably will remove mine up front too. good call I will go take a look at that now... My roll bar covers are the spice color, and I looked into fabric paint but didnt see anything that would be too close. mine are actually in really good shape anyways. I will do a crazy good prep job I am a prep freak
What you were refering to early, the ECM and HVAC I think, where are those exactly and how did you deal with them again?
I just treated rust and am working on cleaning out the dirt and grime.

I also removed all of my seatbelts. Another great tip was to remove the rollbar covers, wash them and spray them with black fabric paint. They now look new. Take your time masking. Remember what you don't cover can and will get sprayed.

Thanks! I removed my top, and the passenger seat tonight. also removed all bolts around passenger seat. I already have no rear seat, and have had all rear bolts out so those were a breeze. All I have left is drivers seat and center console, then tape and plastic cover the rest. vaccum, wipe clean, scruff up, and spray away. I just got the Upol kit today so, woohoo! spraying thurs.
got any tips on the center console removal, and any hard parts that I may have to deal with? I keep reading through this thread and others making sure I dont miss anything.

I covered my dash with 1 mill sheet of plastic. Masked off all of the side and door areas, using more sheets of plastic for each side.

Im still learning all the different things in the tub, but I am reffering to the plate the surrounds your shifter. and I have that, and a square cutout under my passenger seat with a foam insert. trying to figure out what that is doing there. I plan on letting it sit for two days. then puttin in drivers seat carfully and carpet so I can get to work and stuff after that. So to minimize any damage.
Did you remove your soft top? just trying to figure out what I am removing, what I am taping, and what I am bagging, and what all parts I will line. I am excited for this

I think it looks great. I did over my rails and the door sills too. Boots have a way of tearing that area up.
I rolled mine in however (using Monstaliner) and got great texture. I didn't have access to a compressor. What I lost in rolling time I made up for in not having to cover everything in plastic to avoid overspray, so I think it is kind of a wash.
Fortunately, I got the texture I wanted since the Monstaliner came with the right kind of roller to give a good texture without being abrasive.
If you have access to a compressor, spraying in makes sense. If you don't have a compressor, rolling in is a good alternative. It just takes a bit more time.
Speaking of time, I allowed mine to cure for a week since I have an alternate vehicle available and am very happy I did. Nice and solid!

|shipjim||I rolled mine used a spray can for nooks and crannies, didn't remove the seats or anything else., taped everything else, all done in about 6 hrs. Made sure any holes were covered. I made sure to really rough it up using a drill with brush, cleaned up any rust and put a rust primer on it first. Came out good, I rolled and painted around and under the seats, covered the ecm.|

|clg82||Looks very good and a side note to all that are planning on doing this. I have done the monstaliner, that turned out way better than I had expected and to help cover up the screw holes from getting all gunky the best thing I used to fill them with were golf tees! It's a great way to keep those threads clean.....good luck to everyone that does it....|

Can you give a bit more insight to what you did with the pieces surrounding the center console? Like that bolt through the floor on drivers side, and the balck plastic/metal that is under the glove box. did you bolt those back down on top of the liner? I don't like the look of them, and wondered if there were any pieces you lined in addition to the tub. Thanks!
