...and in our defense we couldn't convince anyone in my small town on a Friday afternoon to bend the pipe...thus the "Death Pike". A nice bend could be Phase II...
It's been suggest we weld a sprocket on the pipe with a chain and a hand crank inside so we can lower the pike for picking up hay bales or annoying cyclist...

It's a tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time, right?

Ha!! Mentally we are not quite 17 but otherwise the rest is correct.
We drug the Jeep 260 miles on those (lazy) welds so I'd stick your first born child in it while winching...

@Black Magic - Well, I suppose I could say I'm between 17-22 on a maturity gauge!
Actually, I'm 37, my buddy just turned 40, and the welder is a Lincoln 110v, aka the Crackerbox.
You were right in spirit, at any rate! *grin*

|Black Magic Brakes||
You are between the ages of 17-22?
Your buddy with the welder is about the same age?
The welder is a 110 Mig, probably from HF?
It's running .030 wire or flux core.
How close did I get?

Check it. You don't have to get out and collect your deer roadkill anymore. That thing will carry it all the way home for you.
For those who are grandmas boys.
"nice death spike"

I always enjoy seeing others work.

I take it you're tired of people sitting on your front bumper?
J/K. Good work on the bumper!

|scottunzicker||A buddy and I did, yes. I did most of the "grunt" work (read: grinder), and he did the welding. We bought the pipe stock and plate from a local place, did some measurements, and went to town. Took about 7 hours between the two of us. I'd never done anything like that before. It was a fair bit of work, especially given that it was 100 degrees plus in the garage in which we were working, but it was cool to see the end result.|

|Scoob||You weld that yourself?|
