There is a silver TJ out where my parents live that has a 3 inch body lift and 35s. It makes me cringe when I watch it drive down the road. Looks like a death trap.
Just remember, if you install a 3" body lift, you're going to have a lot of trouble reselling it in the future. In my eyes, it's nearly permanent. It can be undone, but it's going to take a lot of time and energy to remove it.

|bink98xcab||i seen a tj the other day at walmart that was very noticaleble, so as any guy would i had to check it out, as i get close i see no tires until im right up on it, looks like a home made 4" body lift and possibly 31's. bout gagged from all the throw up in my mouth just thinking of the waste of time and effort. not to mention thinking that the poor idiot thought it looked good. i mean gas tank and bumpers looked like the had fell off and where dragging???. god choice on the flatties thats my next mod (im hoping)|

|jacked06tj||ive got stock bumpstops up front and none in the rear. they were missing when i bought it and never got around to getting new ones. i did have to get the rear cups that hold the bumpstops so that my spacers wouldnt move around. as i said, this one sees little wheeling. atleast for now. lol|

|rda616||So what you are saying is you already have 7.25" of lift . Any you want to higher. Why would you do that? That's just crazy and services no function, if anything this would hurt function. Myself I would get rid of the 2" spring spacers and lower the jeep a bit. You already have more then enough lift at 5.25" for a 35" tire on a short arm kit provided you have the proper bump stops. I am running 4.5" of total lift with 35" tires and don't have any issue. All you would be doing is raising your center of gravity, making your jeep less stable and less function!|

|NCJeepin||Tube flares sound like a much better plan. They will give you more tire clearance without lifting more. Plus the install should be a little easier than the BL.|

|jacked06tj||im running 35s. stock 30 up front and 44 in the rear. sticking with the 35s. the other guy also has 35s withe the bushwacker flat style flares and it still looks ok. maybe i will spend the money on those smittybuilt tube flares that are real skinny. i like the way they look. ashame the cops around here dont have much appreciation for lifted jeeps lol|

|NCJeepin||If you already have a JKS 1.25" BL, which is very good quality, why are you going to swap it out for a 2"? Your only going to be gaining an extra .75". IMO, I would save that money you would spend on the BL and buy something else to make the Jeep look cool since that's what you're going after. There's not a whole lot of difference from 1.25" and 2". Just something to think about...|

Just so I understand everything.
4" suspension lift
2" coil spacers
1.25" body lift
Remove 1.25" body lift
Add 3" body lift
I am on mobile so I am unable to see your Jeep profile.
What tires are you planning on running?
What axles do you have?
I am not going to suggest anything nor will i try and talk you out of anything I am just curious.

|jacked06tj||hey scoob, the pipe threaded on both ends is what they use to extend the fuel filler hose, most companies use a style close to that, i did not think about the steering shaft, but ive seen kits that come with the relocation bracket, and could be easily obtained, and the shifter is cake. if already cut it at the rubber isolator and shortened it for comfort and re-welded it to work with the current set up. have plenty of clearance now. wouldnt be a problem to readjust it again. i do have the motor mount risers with will probably put the shifter around 1/2" higher than factory. but thanks for looking i probably would have overlooked the steering shaft. ill most likely end up doing the 2", but theres always the voice in the back of your head saying go big...i know the 2" wont be to bad because a guy in my area is running the same exact setup. thats the only reason i went with the coil spacers over my sl. i knew that it would work beause he actually had the exact lift. but then i of course added a few goodies to the mix to correct a couple things.|

WTF would you want a 3" body lift for? It's going to look like @ss when its done, but if that's the look your after go for it.
Looking at the kit it doesn't look very complete. A couple issues are going to need addressed.
#1, the gas tank is going to stay with the frame. The fill tube is not. Is it going to extend an extra 3" on its own?
#2, the steering rod is almost to the point of binding with a 1.25" BL. When you double that amount its not going to be good. Does the kit include a bracket to move the steering?
#3, The shifter is going to now be VERY short and no way are you going to have enough throw to get into all the gears. Does it come with an extension for the shifter and magic hole adapter to widen out your tunnel an extra 3" in every direction?
Post up pics and all you went through when your done.

|jacked06tj||no ill be removing the 1.25 bl. i already have a 4" sl with 2" spacers on top of the coils. cant really go any higher on the suspension without a long arm kit and boat loads of money. ive had plenty of wheeling trips in my xj and yj, so this one doesnt see a whole lot of trails. mostly just to look at when im hanging out with some buddies, and to drive over anything that gets in the way|

doing some research, just found that rugged ridge makes a 3" body lift just for the 05-06 6 speed tj's.

6 speed tj, 2" or 3" body lift
i know body lifts are not recommended around here, but im doing one anyway. my question is this, when they advertise the body lifts for the tj with a manual trans, it only goes to 04. i have an 06, so i know that they used the 6 speed in 05+ years. the body is the same, so im assuming that the reason they dont sell a 3" body lift for an 06 tj is because of the trans. is this soley due to the shifter shaft geometry? or are there other trans related issues why it will not work? i can get around the shifter issue, but i m not sure what else it could affect with the trans. i know the ac lines interfere with the radiator, but it seems there have been provisions for that also, plus i have jks motor mount lift blocks to aid in a solution for that. i need to know if i can use a 3" with only adjusting my shifter or if im stuck with a 2". i already have a 1.25 jks bl. still havnt decided which to go with get, either 2 or 3, but the installation issues will probably sway my decision one way or the other. either lift is fine for what im doing with it, so im not much concerned about why i should go that big on a bl. thanks in advance for your input. also, if anybody has any pictures of the frame to body gap with a 3" body lift that will also help me decide. thanks
