emkayd Thank tysalem, CapnRich22 and jcf! Will take those doors and roof off in 3 months :-)
I was looking at Teraflex BB Budget Boost Wrangler | TeraFlex Suspensions
I guess I could take it offroading stock as it is now, but a little scared coz of all the creaking and crunching noise from front suspensions.

I have D35 and D30 in the rear and front. I don't know the gearing since the tag is covered in oil leak in the back. I will get a rack this weekend and clean it out and try to get it. But do i need a different axle and gearing to run 31x10.5s? (i tried calculating by doing 65mph in 4th gear, ran at 2500rpm w/ 15" tires, i did correct for speedo error, but end number didn't make any sense)

Apart from a decent lift kit, what else would i need to get this jeep to a trail?
Any recommendations/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

tysalem I love the color man

It's going to look even better with those 31's and a lift like you were talking about.
And of course when you pop those doors and top off

Hello from Gilbert, AZ

Hello Everybody!
I'm new to this forum. I bought my first ever Wrangler less 24 hours ago!
First off, I would like to thank all the members/admins/moderators here for all the fantastic posts, discussions, ideas and the sea of knowledge that I was able gather to before buying my jeep!

I bought a totally stock 1999 TJ 4.0 5MT Sport hardtop w/ 117K miles on it. I know it needs some love, but I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty. Called and emailed Chrysler for a build sheet (w/ info from here!).
It needs new set of tires for starters, makes creaking and grinding noises if I go in circles counter-clockwise, the rubber lining at the top of the spring is cracked and brittle. I see some rust in the underbody.

But the good news is I did read some posts about how to clean underbody rust using truck bed line and such. Currently it runs on 215/75/R15, I would like to get her on 31x10.5s and get a 2" suspension lift (although this might take 6 months or so).

Any suggestions for tires (and wheels), decent suspension lift kits, rust clean up, cold air intake will be greatly appreciated. Since I have never done any under the hood mods, I don't have any tools . Any words of advice in that dept will be great as well (like jack, ramp, any jeep specific tool).
Can't wait to ready it up for some serious off-roading. I have owned a 07 XTerra Offroad version for 2 years (2 years ago), but couldn't resist the calling :-) and here I'm!

Once again thanks for all the indirect help! I look forward to my jeep days!
