|bighog85||Do I need to take into account my market around here? I mean if I'm not seeing anything for the prices that you are talking about then what am I supposed to do? I'm sure I could find something in another state but then I have to get over there when we only have one vehicle and get it back and I'm not sure the hassle is going to be very practical. I got a tip on a great Jeep guy who would know what things are worth around here so I am going to see if he will take a look at anything that I am considering before I buy it. |banks316||I think that is over priced also. But then again I bought mine as a wreck with a bent frame. But only had 100 k miles on it. To me jeeps are a blank canvas you can build the in many different way. There easy to modify weather you want to get a premade lift or fab your own. It's a good feeling when someone complents your jeep and you can tell them I built it. My last 2 cent don't by one that's been pre built cause you don't know how it was wheeled and you my be replacing a lot of worn out or broken parts. Also could have a hard time finding parts cause you don't know what all was put in to the build. On my rig you would never guess that my steering was built out parts from a 72 dodge powerwagon.|

|Irongrave||his one photo shows a stock shifter with no consul. I don't see a floor cut out for a twin stick 300 so I'm gonna guess that is fake. If your looking for a pre built rig get off craigslist and get on Pirate4x4. lots of very clean well built rigs on there for real prices not 9k for a 92YJ on 44s that are not an upgrade worth the cost hes asking|

|Zombiekiller||I got my jeep alread lifted with a rebuilt motor and tranny for about 4k... i will admit it is alot nicer than mine, but this is still much much to overpriced...|

|YJTom||I live in boise and just saw your post. I agree the price seems a little steep, but I agree prices here are a little higher. If your serious about this jeep let me recommend a great mechanic to look it over. Josh at skinny pedal. he should be on google he has a shop in nampa. He just worked on my jeep and was a real straight shooter. Also some of the rigs he is working on now are pretty impressive|

|bighog85||I thought the price was high too but I am starting to think that the market here is just higher since there aren't a lot of nice wranglers around. I'm not gonna pay what he's asking but I also don't think I will get down much lower than probably $8,000. So the suspension seems a little sketchy to me. He said it has the stock yj coil and the leaf springs are moved to the top of the axle and then it has a shackle lift and then a two inch body lift. I have heard that two inch body lifts are not good but I don't know why. Anyone want to answer that?|

|Yellow_Fox||yea you have to be careful with jeeps that have alot done to them. you have to make sure the guy before you did a good job. If you have a mecanic you trust have him look at it and give the guy a low offer. Buying the right car takes alot of time and reseach unless you have the money to burn.|

|stimpy||Way overpriced if you ask me. 9 grand seems like the guy is trying to get back all the money he put into it. Its hard to find a Jeep with tires and a lift that size that doesn't have issues. Offer him 4 grand, thats what Pawn Stars would do|

What this guy did was put in bitchin AMC/CJ-era drivetrain parts for serious off-roading plus a lot of bells and whistles.
I'm sure it's an offroad beast and a decent daily driver. But you can do better than 8900---that's ridiculous money to me.
You could find a better Jeep for $5,000, keep looking.

Is this a good buy?
Some of you may know that I have been shopping around for a Wrangler and am looking for something that will work as my main vehicle but also be good on the trails. I know that there is nothing that will be perfect for both but I'm looking to do as best as I can within my budget. I found this one: 1992 YJ Jeep Wrangler
It seems to have a lot of good stuff done to it. D44 axles, D300 transfer case, new top, good motor, the interior is completely brand new, new tires and wheels, the works. The guy told me that the person he bought it from claimed it had a new motor put in at 100,000 miles and it now has 16x,xxx miles but he said that he took it to his mechanic and told him to fix everything so as long as he has receipts to show that then I would feel pretty comfortable buying something with those miles. What are your thoughts?
