Sorry to hear about your friend
Welcome to WF! Jeeps are unlike anything else, and that is mostly because of the community. Don't forget to wave

New from Tampa/St Louis
Just checking in to say hello.
I'm not completely new to Jeeps, as I had my family's 1993 Cherokee Sport a few years ago but somehow I managed to blow the head gasket. Ahem. Oops.
So, I'd been shopping around for a pickup lately with 4WD because (a) I wanted to finally have something with 4WD to play with and (b) I'm moving to St Louis (hence the Tampa/St Louis location) in three weeks and would rather navigate the snow on four wheels rather than two being that I haven't driven in snow in 30 years.
Notice that I said I was looking for a pickup because last Tuesday I woke up to a message that a friend of mine was killed when some idiot fleeing from the police ran a red light and smashed into his car.
Gone instantly they said.
So I decided after this that while a truck might be the more logical choice (especially considering the move) I've wanted a Wrangler since I was a kid and, damn it, I wasn't putting it off anymore because you truly never know what tomorrow brings.
So I just purchased my first Wrangler yesterday. Picked up a 1990 YJ and couldn't be happier. Hard to not smile when you're driving down the road with the hum of 33's under you.
Sorry to be so long-winded but I assumed if anyone would understand this kind of love for a vehicle, you folks would.
