Odhinn The plastic needs to be folded under. Hard to explain but here's the online instruction from best top. Look at page 4 diagrams.

richp First question, what brand top is it and is it an oem frame or aftermarket frame ?

When I replaced my first top on a 97 with new canvas I removed the screws that attach the top to the frame, the new best top that went on had holes already there that lined up with the nose of the frame and I screwed them in, the only issue that was tough was the two end triangle corners, those screws were rusted but I got them out and replaced the screws [I think the replacement top came with new ones but it was 3 years ago so I'm not sure]

soft top install ?'s

I screwed the top to the header in front and attached the rear corners, however there is a lot of slack in the top where it meets the windshield. there is a plastic strip on the fabric, does it need to be folded before I attatch it?

thanks, db
