ranger44 Well...problem seemed to go away, but didn't. Light still flickers on, mostly when going over bumps in the road. I have to hit the knee board a few times right by the light to get it to go out. Any ideas??

ranger44 Door switches were unplugged by the PO (he loved taking the doors off), and were just dangling under the dash. Must have been touching something to complete a circut, because after I plugged them in, problem went away. Thanks for the help!

x2 I was having a similar problem. (windy days my lights would flicker while the doors were on) Got 2 new switches off of Amazon for around $15. Good as new.

ranger44 BUMP

I am having the same issue right now with my interior light by the pedals flickering. I have played with all the wires and grounds that I can find. This has been an electrical nightmare since I got it from the PO, and his teenage son wired up anything he wanted to anything else. Since I bought a high-school electrical experiment, I have been fixing all sorts of things. This one has me stumped. I replaced the dash speakers last week, and since then, it has been doing it more often than it used to. Checked all the connections near the speakers and I see nothing rubbing. Hoping to fix it soon, becuase it is hard to tell after I close the door if the light went out in the daylight hours, and I would hate to come out to a dead battery after work.

To reitterate the question asked by the OP, is there somewhere that is a common place for wires to cross? Does anyone know where that little light is grounded at so I can check/move it? Any help is greatly apprecaited!

flyfishnevada When I pull on the harness behind the small kick panel by the door strap hook, the dome light was going on and off. Now when I pull on it it stays off. Must be something in that area. Just too hot outside to keep at it for very long. Driveway will be in shade soon.

Dome Light Stays On...Doors are on

OK, I've had problems with my dome lights since I got my Jeep. They will turn on and off whenever they want. Headlight switch is off, they will be on. Fuse 4 is pulled, they are on. Doors open or closed, they are on. I think it's a short and after some playing around, I think it's on the driver's side. I noticed the dome light would flicker when I slammed the drover's door. I jiggled all the wiring from the speaker bar to the dash and opened up the dash and wiggled wires. It stayed on.

Well, duh, the door was open. I closed the door and off it went. OK, so I moved something and it worked. All the wiring looks stock, in other words no one has hacked into it. Any likely areas to recheck? Places where wires are known to rub and develop shorts? Just trying to not have to check every inch of wiring if I can help it. Thanks!!
